So, I currently have 4930k and EVGA x79 Dark. Looking to upgrade to x99 for more native Sata 6 ports on the x99.

I got some Kingston DDR4 HyperX 3000mhz ram and I see it's on the compatibility list for the for x99 classified, but it says only on bios 1.14 and above.

If I buy the mobo from Newegg and it comes with a lower bios, how would I flash Bios to use the ram?

Worst case scenario I would think is to buy the cheapest single stick of ram just to boot and flash new bios revision  >>  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148856

    Have you tried the memory?
It is not going to overclock the memory from the get go, most likely it will boot up to 2133.
At least that is what mine did.

Thanks for the info, I bet I'll be able to use it first at 2133mhz then flash bios and then up it to 3000mhz.

It's simple.  All you do is format the USB stick via FAT32.  Download the BIOS files and extract them on the stick.  Go into BIOS with the stick already installed via USB and flash the BIOS via .BIN file to the newest one.  I did it and went fine.

    BIOS 1.14 Updates

    • Support Xeon CPU. Please refer to updated CPU support list here.
    • Support UEFI RAID. The UEFI RAID configuration page will exist under Advanced page when user set to RAID mode and disable CSM function.
    • Support disable CPU cores by per core.
    • Add USB profile function. User can save profile to USB and load from USB.
    • Add load last saved settings function. (Hot key F9) User can load last settings even if clean CMOS.
    • Add VT-d item under CPU configuration page.
    Windows Installation

    • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
             151-HE-E999-KR - EVGA X99 Classified
           150-HE-E997-KR - EVGA X99 FTW
           131-HE-E995-KR - EVGA X99 Micro
    • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
    • Close all open programs.
    • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and update.bat
    • Press Y to start the flash process
    • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
    • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
    • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

    BIOS Installation
    • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
    • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
    • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
    • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

You can update the Bios now in the Bios Interface with a USB Stick. no need to boot to one anymore.
This is really great for EVGA to add this feature within the Bios now.

All you would need to do is add the memory profile manually and I'm sure it would work.  There's a older thread where I lead another member to try it manually and went no problem with example:  15-15-15-35-2T, 1.200v, 2800MHz.  Just enter that info manually and set the rest to auto and system will know what to do most likely
