But setting up a router is just...... clicking through an easy to understand GUI... Nice of you to offer though!

Does this include setting up static ip's or port fowarding something beside running the setup wizard? maybe that would justify the cost....

    even that isn't that hard.

Geek squad employees are kind of gimped they cant even run simple tools like ccleaner o rwi-spy, because its not an approved inhouse software.

They obviously are pushing "approved" things since they constantly shove Kaspersky down my throat even
when I tell them I despise it.

I never take their help..*shrug* Then again, I don't really need it

A lot of retail chains have deals with software companies - they get discounts on the software for selling x amount of it + a kick back, plus the profit of selling something that costs them almost nothing

Fry's charges $99 for wireless home installation. A bit worse than Geek Squad.

They also have some interesting prices for computer services. They charge $70 for computer diagnostics (yes you heard right, JUST the diagnostics). $99 for OS installation on your computer, $45 to install a hard drive/SSD, $70 to take out a motherboard and replace with another one... $15 to install a fan... it goes on and on, you get the idea

Basically, if you don't have a clue how something is done and you want someone else to do it for you, chances are you're gonna open up your wallet and bend over

haha just went upto best buy and looked at their HDMI cables. 120 dollars for a 5 dollar cable is pretty ridiculous. I did get a decent deal on a 4K TV though.

Geek Squad is a sad company, they charged my mom $129 Dollars to plug in the power cord of her router that was unplugged. She said that is what the tech had told her, 3 days later she go the bill.

Geek Squad is a joke. You don't even have to be A+ Certified to work for them.

A+ Certified is a joke as well. I could care less if any tech is A+ Certified.
PS I was a tech for 25 Year and never had one.
Of teammates that were A+ Certified where only on paper, they had zero common since when it came to working on a computer problem. Whether Hardware or Software, yes they were book smart but that was it.

Yeah, A+ certification has also changed... The certification only lasts 3 years before you have to retest. It's more or less to gain profit now.
