Definitely don't want it ^^ Prefer take 1700W Platinium from Lepa with 1800W peak. After 1500NEX is scary, my friends and customers agree with me.

I just sold my PC (motherboard Z9PE-D8 WS, 64 GB ram, 2xXeon 2609, XFX1250 PSU) as I am upgrading to Asus Z10PE-D8 WS, aiming at 128 GB DDR4, Dual Xeon 2690v3, and normaly i need a new PSU.

I wanted dual LEPAs 1700W, these are allready available here in Germany through amazon.de 325 Euro.
Then it happened, i read johny gurus review of the 1600 G2 from EVGA. The only thing better than this PSU is the Corsair AX1500i. Currently the G2 1600 runs for 255 EUR. In fact it was so good that after his testing it got Platinum ratings.
I can only imagine how good the P2 and T2 models would be.

Now you best remember that these PSU are something completely different from the NEX 1500 EVGA sold. These are made by SUperFlower, which is probably the best PSU manufacturer there is. They know their ****. Thus u cant compare it with the NEX 1500.

Thats why im eagerly waiting for the T2 model to appear here in Germny.
Im probably going to get 2 of them, to be sure. Now the question is, when are these PSUs going to be available ?

The 1600G2 is probably a better alternative than even the LEPA 1700 Platinum. Its also 75 euros cheaper.
Now johny guru didnt review the LEPA 1700 so i dont know what is it made of, but i do know what the 1600G2 is made of, and so far in my eyes its the better deal between the two. If the review of the 1600g2 from johnny guru is any indication, i believe we have ourselves the new king of the PSUs, so tell me EVGA, when i will be able to buy the a pair of 1600 T2, and if possible, tell me what price difference i should expect between the G2, P2 and T2 model ?

You are right definitely 1600G2 is better choice than LEPA 1700.
1600 G2 is perfect PSU from performance side, power side and warranty side.
Off course always is better to choose hardware from manufacturer with strong community.
Imagine if something happen with fault hardware as LEPA PSU, Galaxy graphics, you search for support angry and can't find forum for graphics because tones of Samsung Galaxy pages and topics and who know what else. CORSAIR and EVGA you can contact technical support and you can always get advice on forum.
I think 1600 T2 price could be same as NEX1500, about 440$.
In Serbia people are almost more interested for EVGA Power Supplies than Graphic Cards.

There was a mention of the T2/P2 release in August/September.  I see the P2 on the site, but no T2.  Will the T2 be released in the states?

I asked Jacob for a ETA and he said December.

Yeah not sure still why that is the case. Having it on the back is so much more convenient.

Re: EVGA supernova 1600w T2 pics 2014/12/20 06:20:01 (permalink)
They have reason for that probably. On 1600 T2 is switch nicer because it's more expensive unit.
Switch is on front side because this PSU will be used most with system where fan should work.
3-4 graphic cards and Intel Xtreme, watercooling... it's better to fan spin always.
Eco Mode is more for us with 1-2 graphic card and mainstream.
On Seasonic and CORSAIR is inside too. But I disable that once and no reason to change.
Probably is not good to every day 3-4 times Enable and Disable.

I noticed the picture of the 3 power supplies side by side make it look like the cases are the same length. From the specs, it looks like the housing are different sizes. Is this the case? Do they still us the standard NEMA 5-15 socket for the power cable? Thanks

If anything these are where handy access to it makes more sense. On normal usage, I don't expect ever needing to have the fan on. But when benching it will go up so would like to switch eco mode off then.

Will have this unit either this weekend or early next week, as I just ordered one today. I will post pictures when it arrives. Still have not found any reviews, guess I need to do one.

Not yet, but one is soon to come.  This just arrived today.  Will install this weekend.  Will first try to get the LEPA to work, but this baby will be in there shortly after that.

Really jonnyguru gave it a 9.5 build quality and the ax1500i a 10/10, despite people reporting issues with the ax1500i. Simply vecause of one sloppy solder point.

Anyways i bought it. I just pray there is no classy variant otherwise ill get that.

*9.9 overall

Installed mine this past weekend.  The rig it is in is folding and just rocking it.  The installation was easy.  My only issue is the lack of peripheral cables, especially the 4-pin variety.    Just bought the individually sleeved cables and the additional set, as this will give me the necessary 4-pin connectors.

This thing is a monster.  I have been impressed with the entire thing.  Might even scare away the boogieman, seriously.  If it gets your soul, you'll be in good hands.  Might be why I left Sunday to go out of town, I just hope my wife is okay alone with it.  Wait a minute, she may prefer that over me.  Got to get home, now!

Do you guys have some feedback on this unit now ?
I saw the JG review and ready to pull the trigger, but really hesitating with the AX1500i, cause the voltage regulation and ripple are soooo nice on the Corsair unit. Yet the Corsair have sucky cables, apparently some issues (but the 1600T2 is too Young for that I guess), and I don't like the idea of the Capxon caps.

Maybe I should just throw a dice :D

Maybe I should just throw a dice :D

Here is my feedback:

The unit was very easy to install.  The fully modular design was nice.  The cables go in nicely and snap in easily.  My LEPA was like trying to push a nail through concrete and never really snapped into place.  The cables are nice, although they did not supply enough 4-pin cables.  I know the world is moving to more SATA-type connections, but if this replaces an older model or is put into to a computer that was built even last year, it needs more 4-pin options.  The cable lengths were good.  The number of cables were good.  I have gotten great performance from the unit.  It is quiet.  It runs nicely and has the power I need.  My rig is running better than it ever has.  I replaced two Corsair AX860i's with this single unit.  My LEPA required a special configuration for the PCI cables because of it different rail design, but this one has just one, so no need for that.  To solve my cable problem and to make my rig look very good, I ordered the replacement cables in black.  They are very nice.  They also worked nicely with the unit.  I ordered the extra cables, which supplied an additional 4-pin cable.  This covered me nicely.  I am very happy with this item.  It has been a good investment and one that runs my rig well, but also has made it look very nice also with the all black theme it has.  This is a very good unit.   Johnny Guru was right, although I feel it is a 10/10 but will not argue over the difference between that and a 9.9/10.  If you have specific questions, please let me know.  The quality between this and the Corsair is the same.  I do not like the plug in stuff with the Corsairs, as that is another software bloat item on your rig.  I use temp probes, which work best for me.
