I am assuming the above response was from you. I thank you very much for your advice. But I think that I'll have to do a re-install because the MBR (Master Boot Record) on my SDD is for the old Motherboard (Asus Formula Maximus) AMI BIOS 1403 dtd 09/10/2009. I'm not really wanting to live in a legacy. However, I'm gonna try it(XMP to UEFI)  first. What's the worst that can happen? I have to do a re-install of Windows7 Ultimate.
I will have a Paragon bkup of each and everything, so I'll be OK. It could prove to be a very long weekend.

Now on Bios 1.14 Sweet. So far I have only pushed the CPU to 4500MHz or 4.5GHz
Using XMP 1 Profile for Memory @ 2400MHx working great. Adaptive Power set to +3xx

Living in a legacy lol.  Yeah, that's about the worst.  Might want to integrate the Ethernet driver or have it on HDD (updated instead of DVD one), you won't have network connection initially since hardware is too new.

My plans are to do a full rebuild this weekend as well going full UEFI, only takes a few minutes to go back... but most of the weekend to go forward! Damn, now "North to Alaska" is playing in my head....

OK . After some more digging, I now realize that UEFI won't work with disks that are MBR format. Must be GPT. As mine is MBR format, I'll have to do a conversion.  A Windows install will do it if everything is arranged correctly, and the CD/DVD is UEFI acceptable. Most new ones are. Don't know if mine is.  If you try to do an install and Windows doesn't find a GPT disk to install to, the install will just fail to initiate. Also, Paragon can convert an MBR disk to GPT. It will setup all the partitions to include the EFI one.  Don't know if it wipes the drive in the process. If it does, oh well
Plan now will be, stay in Legacy with the MBR format and get to a stable boot into windows. Get everything right. All data backed up, and then reformat all my drives to GPT and go from there. 
 
BTW: Raid is way over rated. I had 2x150 Raptors in RAID0 and  they were friggin' slow. Broke them down and restored to just one drive and it was a little faster on boot as well as app opening. The best thing I did was to migrate everything to my new Samsung 850 Pro and bam everything is much faster. Now my only bottleneck is SATAII; hence the new board upgrade to SATAIII. Also plan to try and E-SATA add on card to see how that goes.

Was just naming the raid controller as an example, there's a ton of stuff in full uefi mode to explore.  My Vertex 2 ssd's alone ~283MB/s, but ~512MB/s raid 0 on the Intel controller and never dropped in the past 5yrs on X58, but I did drop one 5ft onto a tiled concrete floor the first day lol.  Never ran mechanical HDD's in raid 0, but have 8x3TB WD Reds in raid 5 for storage, goes very fast considering the drives and solid 2+ years now. The LSI controller appears with the Intel controller in the advanced tab now, cool beans for anyone with a uefi compatible card and updated bios on it.

If you really want to go fast Chips, have a look at M.2 PCI-E M.2 SSD.    Still in the process of making it work.  Just have to wait for my Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit to come in to finally get the installation going.

Was thinking that also, re: M.2 PCI-E M.2 SSD. Understand X-99 Classified has a dedicated slot just below the SATA ports. Might consider this for a boot drive. Formatted GPT so UEFI won't be an issue. Could get rid of all my platters. Hate slow computers

Depends on which version of RAID. Before SSD I used Raptors (I LOVED them) and they turned out very good performance in RAID0 even if they were a bit loud, the very last thing I worried about is how long it takes to boot into Windows. How long it takes to process data is worth checking though. I used to get calls from engineers at Helene Curtis back in the day (1994 era) when one computer would boot 4 seconds faster into Windows for Workgroups 3.11 than his engineer buddy... an utter waste of time considering once in Windows his machine was A LOT faster. I told him to switch machines if it meant that much and his response was his computer is slower so why does it boot faster?!?!?  If you remember Windows for Workgroups 3.11, throw in Novell and you get the picture. Throw in Bernoulli drives (pre-zip drive) and you'll draw an even clearer picture. We are spoiled today. Now that my system is into Windows in about 8 seconds after the EVGA post screen I worry about Windows boot times even less...

The Raid Array was booting into Windows from cold iron to desktop in 1 min. and 45". Now with SSD I'm doing it ~30" and that's with a 4core Q9650 on a SATAII platform running @ stock 3Ghz. So, man I do notice the difference and for me it isn't a waste of time for an impatient Type A personality. I do need to work on that too.
 
I am doing this for fun and like so many guys it's fun to make stuff go faster. Like Chip Foose, just buy the right parts, put them all together properly, neat and tidy like, and smoke at the track on the weekends. Computer parts I can afford, car parts not so much. And I don't have a 3-car garage.
 
This I can do because the info for this stuff is readily available on the internet, if you (1.) take your time and do your research. (2.) Separate the BS from the Apple butter. (3.) And don't be afraid to screw up sometimes.

Not sure why it's taking 30 seconds using an SSD, what options you have turned on in the BIOS?

The reason it still takes about 30" is because there in no provision for bypassing the loading AHCI sequence of all the devices and drivers in the provided BIOS. I can avoid the ROG splash screen, but that seem to be it. I have noticed on my wife's laptop, on which I put a Crucial 512GB SSD, that it boots from cold to the lock screen in about 8" after I bought a full copy of Windows 8.1 Pro and installed it. When I installed it, it just eliminated all the pre-boot stuff and hits the lock screen after only two rotations of the Windows 8 opener. Go figure.

I also came from VelociRaptor drives in Raid0 anywhere from 45secs to just over a min booting times.  Than went to a EVO 840 500GB and brought my boot times down to 30-40secs roughly.  All of this was done on a X58 SATA II system.  Now I am heading to X99 with M.2 PCI-E SSD.  Should see my boot times anywhere from 4-8 secs as I've seen quite a few examples already.  Can't wait. lol  Just need to add a some thermal tape and a few heat sinks on that chip.

Well it has now been six months with no update (or even acknowledgement) or fix to make ASUS sound cards work on the board without buggy workarounds. Well done EVGA.

One Month and a few days, not Six Months.
Have you given 1.14 a try?
What is the Buggy ASUS Workaround that you are doing?
Do you have the 4-Pin Molex Plugged in?
The Manual shows support for only Windows XP and Vista, what OS are you using?

It's been stated in the other thread and even on the first page of this thread. The card works perfectly fine with the same year old beta driver on ASUS motherboards, so the only reason it wouldn't work on the EVGA board is a BIOS issue. The issue was brought to them back in September, so yes it has been six months and every subsequent BIOS update has not fixed it. If you really need proof as to who is at fault, it would be ASUS if EVGA said it was ASUS, but EVGAs deafening silence in regard to the issue speaks volumes.

Asus X99 Deluxe user here with a Xonar Essence STX. Unfortunatly, Asus boards have the exact same problem, both the Deluxe and Rampage from what I've heard so far.
