I have question about mixing screens in surround. I now have 2 U2713hm's and i wanted to buy another one to make 3xwqhd setup. But now Dell has put me in pickle. They released the P2715q (UHD screen) which is good news for my study (big data sets) but i really want to have a surround set-up.

So my question comes down to this, is it possible to have a set-up with the UHD screen in the middle and force a 3xWQHD set-up via the drivers?

Just FYI, my system specs are:
i7 4930K
2x 770 (going to upgrade as soon as I have the screen)
16GB RAM

Thanks in advance

Hi and Welcome to the Forum...

I won't say it won't work, but it's unlikely it will work.  There are 3 main things you need in display's to have them work in surround.  Same refresh rate, resolution, and sync polarity.
It's usually possible to set the display's at the same refresh rate & resolution by using the lowest of the 3, but the sync polarity can't be controlled.  Whatever it comes with from the factory is what you get.

The best way to run surround is by using 3 identical display's.  Anything beyond that would require some good luck...

Thanks for the answer.
Is there any way i can find out the sync polarity beforehand? Are there any sites who list this as part of their review?

Here's a link to Nvidia's site where they show what's needed for surround.  >>  http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2668/kw/surround

As far as your "Sync Polarity" question, some owners manuals for the display may provide that info depending on how detailed it is.  I just looked through my ROG Swift manual and it doesn't give that info.  >>  http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2677/~/what-is-sync-polarity-and-how-do-i-know-what-the-value-is-for-my-monitor%3F

So Dell lists the sync polarity of their screen. Turns out i can't do what i want to. The 3 screens would top out at 1920x1080, at which they all have +/+.
Either I have to go AMD or I have to get another WQHD screen.
Thanks for the help! You just saved me.
