Ok, so I posted a problem on here not too long ago about the audio coming from my 970 being distorted when playing games or watching videos. Some one on here, I don't remember the name, directed me to reinstall the latest driver while using the advanced install option to omit all the drivers except the display driver and the Phys X driver. This solution worked and after several restarts to verify it, everything seemed fine. But then, after turning off the computer for the night, the problem returned upon turning the computer on again the next morning.

This is a consistent problem. Every time I shut down the computer, the audio problem returns. Following the same driver reinstall process that I used before works a majority of the time, but I have to do it every time I turn on the computer. I recently ran a Display Driver Sweeper from Guru3D in hopes that it'd clear out any remaining files that could be causing the conflict, but after reinstalling the drivers the problem continued. Does anybody know what could be causing the problem? Perhaps a boot order issue or something?

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

CPU: Intel i7-4770k

Try using DDU to clear everything.

    Try using to clear everything.

I used the DDU to remove all Nvidia drivers. I then did a clean install of just the graphics driver and the Phys X driver but the problem was still there.

Did you happen to install and remove any other audio drivers? Maybe bits and pieces of that still in the system?
    Try Ccleaner
Maybe that will help clean up some driver/ registry issues.

It does sound like corrupt audio drivers maybe go to realtek site or asus download the latest audio drivers. That same thing has happened to me 3 times on my asus board, I'd give it a try..

As Sajin said, I'm using the HDMI output on the graphics card for my audio. The only drivers I removed with the DDS were the Nvidia drivers.
