Will Windows 8 drivers work with Windows 8.1?

Hi,
I have an old laptop that recently began to randomly shut down. I decided to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows, and I happen to have a spare copy of Windows 8.1, but the laptop manufacturer's website lists only drivers for Windows 8 (the laptop's an Aspire 5750Z, BTW). Will the drivers from that page also work with Windows 8.1 or do I have to manually get drivers from the OEM's website?

    Windows 8 drivers will work with Windows 8.1.

    Is there any documentation from Microsoft or something like that which proves it's true?
    Sorry about the doubt, but I just want to make sure to know for sure whether they work or don't.

    Some do, some don't.
     
    More so trial and error.
    Sometimes you may need to extract drivers from there .exe/.msi setup into a folder - if you go further sometimes it says that no devices found for the driver.
    At that point you can go into device manager and browse driver to the extracted directory - more often then not it works.

    Well I would go here Update to Windows 8.1
     
    Then go to the 3rd item down on the page, run the "Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant" and check your system .......
