Hello,

Anyone know how to modify the Hadron Air case to accept slightly larger GPUs, specifically the MSI Radeon R9 280?  (Or otherwise get something like this to fit?)  The specs for the MSI card list it as 269 mm in length as opposed to 267 max listed for the Hadron.  Do I really have to give up this card for 2 mm ???  If it just won't fit, can anyone recommend a GPU equivalent to the r9 280 that will?  (I am very unfamiliar with GeForce cards.)  This may be a deal breaker for me with the Hadron.

Also, I have heard (unofficially) of some builders getting micro-ATX MBs to fit in this case.  But wouldn't the standoffs be wrong?  Specifically I'm looking to use an MSI Z87M Gaming MB (9.6 in. x 9.6 in.; 24.4 cm x 24.4 cm).

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Not 100% on the GPU length - Front and back of the case have edges that protrude back into the case a little - may need to bend them out to get the GPU in, then bend them back

people here in the forum have the 780ti kingpin in there and the Radeon R9 290x 275 mm card and a 280 mm video card. some modding done though.

As for the MATX boards, the case does not officially support them.
There is room behind the PSU at the bottom of the case which lets some people squeeze a taller board into it, but the PSU does block some of the ports, as well as prevent a second GPU from being installed.

There are some thinner MATX boards that can be squeezed in without removing the HDD bay, but with that MSI board, you would most likely need to remove the HDD bay to get it to fit.

Here is a link to a guy putting an MATX x99 board in his hadron.

Thanks for all the great info!  Stupid question:  If you remove the HDD bay, does your SSD just "hang there" in the case?

Without the HDD bay there is no where specific to mount it.

You could make something custom or use Velcro strips etc

I mounted my SSD at the front of the case, through one of the vent holes infront of the PSU.
