Hello all,

I have a weird issue in that my new Build runs like a charm, but if the PSU is turned off or the wall power cut, then the next time I turn it back on the system will power on but not POST.

Hitting the clear CMOS button resolves it but I would prefer to not do this every time the computer is moved etc.

I have replaced the PSU as part of my troubleshooting process, unfortunately this did not resolve it.

I have an X79 classified with 16GB Corsair Dominator RAM running 2133 XMP profile, 3930k (not overclocked at this point) dual Asus 780's and a new Enermax 1000w PSU.

Has anyone else had a similar issue or can you provide any insite into what might be causing this?

thanks in advance.

    How is your CMOS Battery?
Start testing with only One Memory Stick.

Thanks for your reply, I will test the CMOS battery tonight (at work ATM) the board is brand new but I guess it could have been on the shelf for a while.

If its not the Batt, I will test with only one memory stick, Although I hope the board is not that fussy!

If replacing the PSU and the  CMOS battery  does not work and you only have the mouse and keyboard plugged in and no other external components attached (i.e. USB, audio, ethernet ) and the problem persists then it is RMA time. Please feel free to contact us any time via support@evga.com. We are typically available 24/7 but we will not resume regular hours until after January 1st.

ok , updates: Replaced the CMOS battery - same issue, then Tried 1x stick of Memory - same issue

Toggled the dual BIOS selection switch - now it will POST fine even after it was disconnected from mains power for a bit, so it looks like that particular BIOS was to blame.

I recommend that you now update all Three Bios Positions with the current Bios 2.07.
    10-21-2014 BIOS 2.07 151-SE-E779 Win8/Win7/Vista/XP  Download  View
Both mine are at this version and it is a great Bios for the X79 Classified Motherboard.
One is with the i7-3930K the other the i7-3970X
