In the EVGA GeForce 700 Series sub-forum Nite posted this thread about this new game and information about downloading the free demo that also includes a benchmark. The demo, also called the 'Public Test', is available at Steam. The game was recently released and also available at Steam at a current sale price of $36.00. The demo needs to be played and completed to unlock the benchmark.

I enjoyed the game so much that I purchased the full game, something I don't normally do with new releases. The game has a great sound track, the graphics are awesome with lots of options, and the challenges are tough. Like I say if you liked the Portal games you will really like this game.

Ok, that video peaked my interest. Portal 1 and 2 would probably be my favorite games of all time so I will take your word on this. Looks very good.

The game is REALLY good. I liked Serious Sam 3, but I think the developer did a MUCH better job with this game. The game plays great, looks great and is very well optimized. I would recommend this game at full price. You guys want another great one? Craft the World is pretty amazing as well.

I've been playing the game off and on over the holidays and it's pretty good. One thing I've noticed is that the architecture hasn't changed much in the first level and I just started the 4th door. It has a great medieval feel, but the 'Official Release Game Trailer' shows other architectures and time periods.

Do those time periods become available at different levels?

Another obstacle I've run into is:

Do I need to note the hex numbers, exit the game, and do research to find clues?

Also, I can't seem to scan some codes, is there a trick or something?

I have done a lot of searching looking for answers, and it would have been nice for the developers to have developed some type of guide, or instruction manual, or wiki, or whatever.

None the less, it's a fun and challenging game_

Do those time periods become available at different levels?

There are 3 main hubs, areas A, B and C.  Each of them has a different "theme".  I'm assuming you are still in area A but area B is Egyptian and C is like European cathedrals.  There is also the tower which has an industrial look.

Do I need to note the hex numbers, exit the game, and do research to find clues?

I've looked up lots of the hex codes myself and none of them really offer any formal insights or clues.  They're just as cryptic as the IAN terminal messages which deal with the lore, not the puzzles.  If you really care about the lore (which is fascinating in my opinion) you can run the game in borderless window mode so you can have a web browser in the foreground and you can use a site like this to decode them.

Also, I can't seem to scan some codes, is there a trick or something?

If you mean the QR codes you can just hover over and the game displays the messages for you.  But like the other messages, these only offer cryptic messages about the lore, nothing to help you solve puzzles.
