So ive been wanting a 980 for some time and I keep going back and forth on whether I should get a reference cooler or go with an acx. I'm just worried about temps with the card being so close to the psu. I've read from some that it's night and day with the reference blowing out the back. My build right now  has a 770 with the kraken g10 bracket and corsair h50 cooling it but i want to get away from it because it is just to much clutter inside the case and I want the upgrade. So I was wondering if anyone had any temps with the 980 acx or reference inside the hadron air.

I use reference GTX 780 Ti.. Because it blows hot air out of case.

I think for Hadron are best option Hydro Copper or reference/Superclocked model.
Ambient temps from case can influence very little on reference cards, but same is with card,
even 80-85C reference card can't heat ambient temps not even 1/5 of custom cooler.
But I saw even here I think even Classified in Hadron.
GTX980 SC is perfect choice from Hadron, no better than that.

But because GTX980 not produce much heat and all ACX cards work under 75C than this model will be nice too...

    Hi,

I have used a ACX 2.0 in a Hadron Air without issue, but I do recommend the reference model since it is a smaller case and the reference models can cool better in that type of setup.

I'm currently using an Asus GTX 760 card, which does make my case pretty toasty albeit bearable. I did mod my case a little, removing the drive cage and replaced it with a Corsair H60 so the case has somewhat of an intake now.
