i win't back to 4.2.1 cauce win i trun my pc back on my fan speed like disable i can;t move the slider. even the 4.2.1 doing it to . idk if the drivers our doing it i have the laste one. if any one have the same issue plz message me or reply to my qustion thanks/.

It depends heavily on your video card. It also depends on your drivers (whether or not they are corrupted). And finally, it depends on other software you have installed which may be conflicting the ability to monitor or control the fan speed.

Which video card are you using? There are many video cards which do not support fan speed modification.

I can confirm... Precision X cause some games crash to desktop without any message and warning on desktop or in event logs.
In Left4Dead2 example that happen when level finish or before start gaming, never during gameplay, but again with AB or NVIDIA Inspector immediately that stop. Than I install again Precision and same problem show up again.
I would like so much to EVGA improve precision during 2015 because it's my favorite software with nicest skin, unique but I see now AB copy EVGA Precision X skin with clocks where you can see everything.

Well, I just installed the EVGA PrecisionX 16 5.2.7 and I have to say, it's garbage...
In Far Cry 4 I have graphics artifacts. In Dragon Age Inquisition, if I alt+tab I cannot get the game up again. In Hearthstone the game cursor disappear and when I play some *.mkv in windows media player the windows taskbar is ****ed up and that is just few things I have tested.
In all cases if I disable the OSD by putting the program to precisionxserver.cfg exclude list (yes, I have to do it manually, because I cannot see the icon for the "precisionxserver" in taskbar, that is broken too) all works fine.
Everything was also fine with my old Precision X version 4.2.1
Navigating in the option menu is just pain, I would give anything for the old menu! It's like 9 year old came up with it... it is made only to look good but the usability and efficiency is ZERO.
Anyway unless the OSD is fixed, I mean remade to work properly I am uninstalling this SW. I can live with the **** option menu, since I have to setup it just once but I would suggest to change that too.

i have notice that i have to reset the fan speed from auto/0% to manual set to 75% every time i start my pc up. i was using the WHQL 347.09 and then i thought it was that driver so i went back to the WHQL 344.80 but the same fan problem is still there. still using this version of precision v5.2.7  i may go back to some of the older version which also had much better setting features then this very limited and tiny that is out now.

PrecisionX is closing the PrecisionX server when it's opened. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

Version 4.2.0.2143 is what I am after.
 

No idea where you will find that. Google is your best bet if you don't want 4.2.1. There may be another user that has it, but you will have to be patient as they may not notice for a while.

I would just like to post that I have tired several versions of the new Precision X 16 (including the latest) and the issue with Windows Media player seems to be present in every one. As soon as a video begins to play, the entire interface disappears (in WMP). Next the icons in my taskbar begin to flash repeatedly and explorer seems to go haywire with links shifting around. If I close Precision X, the problem stops. This only appears to happen when a video is played, otherwise everything seems to work correctly. Was hoping this had been resolved by now as I have been using version 4 until it had been fixed.

Is the BF4 booting into 4x zoom corrected by any chance?

It is indeed booting at 4x and it is very limiting for overclocking.

I switched back to precision 4.2.1 and scored 1000 points higher in 3D Mark 11 without any changes, and also was able to get a stable benchmark run through Catzilla at +234mhz (1379 total) which couldn't happen in 5.2.7.

They are making improvements, but we all have to realize, 4.2.1 and all other have been out for a long time. 5.0.0 only came out 5 months ago. There are a lot of variables they have to figure out, and I am sure they are trying. This version is at least 50 time better than the original 5.2.0.

If anyone wants to help them tear the code apart and fix things, I am sure they would appreciate any help. Sending errors is reports is helpful.

 
We have all been asking for it to work in BF4 and it continues to have bugs.    There may be a lot of variables, but why cant they get one developer to get it working with this game?

I have been noticing that, after a couple days of running, PrecisionX would just shut down on its own, and I lose my tray icons and fan monitoring functionality. EVGA: Is there any way I can help you to debug this to find out why it is shutting down?

I haven't posted on EVGA in a long time, but I just downloaded and installed Precison X 16 for the first time and now consider it a huge mistake. I'm having so many issues with it on a fresh OS install it's coming off as soon as I make this post.

When was this newest 5.2.7 version first released? Why then am I clinging to my old v4.2.1.2143 compiled back in May 2013? The answer to this question is what we all like to hear: "It works without a problem and does not interfere with the function of my PC.
I have gone to this forum ever since this new version was released in order to gauge its success in terms of reports of problems. Today is the first time this year that I have looked to download the new version and again I find reports of problems too convincing to trust in this new version.
All my GPUs from EVGA have been winners, and even in their old age they still work. My older version of this software works well for us everyday. Too bad this one is so clunky.

Getting some sort of explorer crash after shutting down games in win 8.1. Purple screen. I have to restart Explorer via taskmanager to regain my desktop. Google chrome and other programs go invisible. Doesn't matter if OSD server is running or not.

VLC will freeze the image and let the sound play on no matter if OSD server is running or not, yet adding it as an exception fixes the issue for some reason.
 
This happens whether i use an overclocked profile or not, custom cooling or not. Only fix i know of is uninstalling it.
 
There are some huge issues with this softwares biggest claimed features. It's probably impressive and very advanced, but was all of this hassle really worth throwing that hissy fit over MSI exclusivity last year? If you'd just waited it out instead, it would be working now.

For reference, when this bug happens (Precision-X just shuts down on its own after a few days of use)... then when the user restarts Precision-X, all of the "Auto" fan checkboxes are unchecked. So I have to go through my 3 GPUs and recheck "Auto" and click Apply. Super annoying. Hopefully you can fix both bugs.
