I have two GTX 780ti Classifieds with one GTX 780ti SC, and unable to SLI all three together with a rigid 3-way SLI bridge due to the size difference of the cards. I am now using three 2-way bridges to connect all three cards together(I saw this thread:*I guess I can't link anything*)
Even with all the cards daisy chained together Nvidia Control Panel only allows two cards to be connect in SLI at once(depending on which sli bridge it wants to ignore(I think)).
In these screenshots I show what happens when I set each graphics card(one at a time) to be a dedicated physx card with a certain SLI bridge configuration.
The problem appears no matter which SLI bridges I use or the order in which I put them. The problem does seem to shift between the cards sometimes though.
Stuff I have tried:
The problem would not go away even after I bought new SLI bridges. So, I assumed it was a bad SLI port on one of the cards, so with the power of deductive reasoning I switched the SLI bridge configuration around. Even when I was sure I had figured out the bad port, it would SLI when I tested it in another configuration and another port would seem to be the culprit.
I have also tried reinstalling the drivers with the SLI bridges out and then plugging them in after after a second restart and reinstalling the drivers with the SLI bridges in.
Not sure if you need this information:
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3
Graphics: (2x) EVGA 03G-P4-2888-KR GTX 780 Ti, (1x) EVGA 03G-P4-2884-KR GTX 780 Ti
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
Nvidia Driver Version: 344.75
The SLI bridge configuration shown in the above screen shots:
(Now looking at the drawing the SLI ports are on the wrong side of the cards... oh well you get the picture)
Card 1: Port 1 connected to port 1 of Card 3, Port 2 connected to port 2 of Card 2
Card 2: Port 1 connected to port 2 of Card 3, Port 2 connected to port 2 of Card 1
Card 3: Port 1 connected to port 1 of Card 1, Port 2 connected to port 1 of Card 2
(It was the last configuration I was trying out)
I am sorry in advance if most of this does not make sense(I tried my best to describe the situation though text and screenshots).
