The new forum will supplement the foldingforum.org, which remains for technical support.  Sounds like the new forum is a place for donors to communicate directly with F@H project researchers and developers.  Users can then +1/"upvote" topics to show what is most important to the majority of donors.

It may help but only if it is not ran by the same folks over on Folding Forum

Oh this is a promising development. If the management of a subreddit is bad enough there are things that can be done, unlike a forum.

Hopefully the mods are not affiliated with the forum, but I suspect they are.  What is wrong with the /r/folding subreddit?

Well, so far...It looks like 7IM is going to spam every thread.

As usual, if he can't win a point on logic, he resorts to troll tactics.

I don't know how the reddit format makes the atmosphere any less negative and caustic to donor concerns.

I had considered it a bust upon inception.  Let's face it... the system is rigged.

Easy, he gets downvoted into oblivion, his comments are hidden to all other viewers.

That's how the reddit formula changes things.

well, I see some people calling him out, but no down-voting.
    I guess not enough views.

Since people seldom go to the FF, it makes sense that even fewer will find their way to this location.
Again, possibly the plan to ghettoize dissent.

Possibly, but given how reddit works it could also backfire horribly with a few well placed mentions on social media for a specific thread amongst all forums of teams that fold.

Yeah, it is looking like a graveyard for good ideas right now.
Managing (compartmentalizing) dissent is not the same thing as growing momentum.

For about the hundredth time, a new or interested donor inquires about how the participation is going down instead of growing...instead of cheering and working to stimulate growth...FF deletes the thread...and a Reddit is born.
where questions and suggestions can be shot down with even more lack of restraint by the old guard.

Not seeing people swarming out of the wood work to join this cause.

Eh... as I said it was doomed to start.  Two reasons:  One this is a red herring and designed to clean up the FF itself of dissenters.  Two:  It has the same detractors/instigators/controllers as FF.

Yeah, I understand how the reddit system is supposed to work...up and down voting moving comments to the top.

However, there is so little traffic it just becomes as mess. You can't even find when someone from PG actually responds...they are buried so far down in the Trolling from 7IM.

Nice idea. But not seeing it yield any real improvement in communication yet.

That is enough for me to avoid it. He is why I refuse to post at the official forums and would never use the subreddit. Someone should make a DC project to cure him

The reddit only has the two moderators though, so that might be an avenue.

I can't stand the guy and would be more than happy to upvote such a notion, and given that most of his comments have ended up in the negatives, I get the feeling I'm not alone.

Well, he seems to have gotten the memo and deleted many of his hostile posts.

Ironically, they added a rule to the Reddit discouraging deleting posts because it breaks the flow...people are responding to empty space and their comments don't make sense anymore.

Oh well, cant win I guess.
