That is pretty disappointing. I wonder why take pictures of a product that has an option that isn't sold. The closest I have found is the M4x30 screws, and I am just a bit iffy to try them. They are a bit longer, and I would really hate to damage my block.

EK,
When will you have support for the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Hydro Copper Part Number: 04G-P4-2989-KR Running in 2/3/3-Way SLI for a SLI Bridge that is?
Thanks,
Have a Merry Christmas and a Great Happy New Year for 2015

Even if the 980 HydroCopper block is a collaboration between EVGA and EK, the bridge or terminal section of the block is not compatible with any bridge that EK make.  If a 2/3/4-way bridge would become available it would probably be made and distributed by EVGA directly like the HC block.

Yep it's been asked a lot of time but it's okay, it means that it will be well awaited :)

It should be available in the beginning of 2015.

Dizzmal, Do we know if the screws are the size you mentioned above? I have four of these blocks I am going to put on my 980s, as I did not even think about the screws being black and agree with Scarlet-Tech, good catch. I also agree that I can live with black, but silver is definitely best, since I am doing colored water and have silver compression fittings on the blocks, like your set up.

Luc, welcome to the forum. Are the thread and length correct for replacing the black screws with silver ones, as mentioned by Dizzmal? Any idea on when you may sell or offer silver screws to match your promotional materials?

Thanks! The exact size is M4x28 but we still don't sell them unfortunately!

For GTX980 FTW and GTX970 FTW is problem with waterblocks, no compatible for now.
OK on GTX980 FTW can fit Thermosphere but on GTX970 FTW nothing except blocks old 2-3 and more years for chip.

Can I use a regular GTX 780 Classy backplate with the EK FC780 Classy?

If not, are the EK backplates discontinued, as I can't find stock ANYWHERE, even on the EK website?

Thanks

The EVGA 780 classy backplate will work, but you will need to get m3x6 or m3x8 screws.

I haven't seen the EK backplates in a while.

Like Scarlet-Tech told you, you can use the EVGA backplate with the right screws.  The EK Backplate isn't discontinued but I admit it can be very hard to find.

I have a bid in on one from eBay right now...hoping to get that.  If not I'll need to find a GTX 780 Classy Backplate - also pretty tough to find so far haha

No precise ETA but I sure hope it's soon because there's an awful lot of requests for it

In my last month report I even mentioned to them that it will be a good idea to release it very soon lolll

I know a lot of people may be asking this but will the new bigger PCB of the 970 SSC be supported with the 970 fullcovers? I dont see the P/N on the cooling configurator yet. will this be looked into in the future? can we expect an SSC block for those users?

The part number 3975 (new 970 SSC) as been added to the compatibility list a couple days ago.  So I guess that the guys in the production team must have done their work.

Also, are you sure the PCB is being modified?

yes, the SSC PCB is a bit longer than the SC. although it may not mean the configuration of the VRM's and VRAM etc has been changed. Thats good to hear though!! Thans for the update!

I have the plexi blocks for the GTX980 with the blue and red backplates and I have decided to change the screws out for silver ones. I ordered new silver screws for the block based on the instruction sheets which have the sizes for each. I have pictures but cannot post right now. I will in the morning. I have comparison photos between the black and the silver for the red backplates and will post the blue when finished. I really like the silver ones and plan on changing them out for all of my plexi GTX980 blocks. Sorry to throw this out without pics, but they are too large from my phone and I need to resize them. More to come.

Edit: Pictures are posted.  Let me know your thoughts.

We don't sell the silver screws, maybe in the future though.

That is pretty disappointing. I wonder why take pictures of a product that has an option that isn't sold. The closest I have found is the M4x30 screws, and I am just a bit iffy to try them. They are a bit longer, and I would really hate to damage my block.

Dizzmal,  posted some pictures of my block with all black screws replaced.  Will post one of the bridge when installed.
