If I were you I'd do an UEFI GPT install of windows and yes do a secure erase first to eliminate the possibility of any problems. Go into the bios to your drive priorities and set the boot device to your optical drive but make sure that it is the uefi listing for that drive so the efi bootloader will be used. Also set your ssd to the uefi listing for the drive. Once windows is installed the windows bootloader will show for the uefi gpt drive and then the drive will be listed next in the boot order. It will definitely look different than a regular mbr install when you look at it so don't be alarmed.
