I've enjoyed doing the Cruncher of the Month things... it's always welcome in my mind to acknowledge those who go above and beyond.

I think this has reached the end of it's rope, not so much the acknowledgement but the frequency thereof.

So, I'm thinking we do a COTQ (Quarter) or we start to include our Folding brethren in the equation.  I'm up for suggestions.  I have no desire to see it end but I would love to see it get better.

Change the award?

Change the frequency of the award?

Change the eligibility?

Help me figure this out.  (I'm old and feeble and am busy fishing... :))

Quarterly sounds good - and maybe pick the top two "crunchers of the quarter"?

Please expound... on the top two crunchers of the quarter.  Like a run off?  I had thought of that for a finale but not sure.

Quarterly sounds good with the Year End with COTY
I would Add Members Must Crunch for the whole Quarter to Win as the same for the Year.

Cruncher of the Year... hmmm... I'm liking it!  So... this year will be the end of the COTM.. after we award the December COTM.

    Next year?

Quarterly with a year end run off?

No... he was awarded for being a catalyst for putting this team together.

No runoff - just have nominations and voting as usual, but quarterly rather than monthly, and then the top two vote-getters are the COTQ's (assuming you get at least 3 nominations).  You end up with 8 winners per year rather than 12, and voting only happens 4 times a year rather than 12.

COTQ seems like a good idea.
COTM suggest POTM, so should we try out a monthly voting for each POTM.
A quarterly project seems a bit long lasting for my taste.

Okay... so far I'm down with the COTQ but... I think there should only be one COTQ like the COTM (as a side note to make sure everyone understands the COTM will go away).  I'm also open to the COTY (Year) as being all inclusive.  In other words, all active Crunchers are eligible regardless of whether or not they were awarded anything in the past.  All hands on deck so to speak.

The COTY is a special award in my mind and will reflect that.  Further thoughts?

Thanks for the vote there AB but really I want it to be about the other unsung heroes of our team.  Besides, I already gave myself the Cruncher of the Century award, Bling Master Award as well  as the Cranky Old Man Award.

    :)

Meanwhile, I think we'll keep to the COTQ as follows:

    Jan-Mar
    Apr-Jun
    Jul-Sept
    Oct-Dec

Nominations and voting will take place the last two weeks of the quarter and one (1) winner will be announced and associated plaque/trophy (looking at new stuff to award now) sent out.

The COTY (Cruncher of the Year) will receive an award of some type to be determined later and can come from any of the active members of the Crunching team.  You need not have been a previous awardee to qualify.

The COTY will take place after the COTQ for Oct-Dec and I'm thinking Jan.1 is a good time to start.  (Or there about depending on the hangover.)

What are your current requirements. Over at [H] we don't necessarily have it locked down to just our team even though some may think it to be implied. This month we had a nom for someone who wasn't (as far as we know) active in DC and the question of them being eligible or not has come up. Before I never really thought of it open to members outside the team, but the rules we post for it each month say nothing of being on our team. Ours includes all DC and not just what we have labeled "crunching". Just some food for thought.

It is for our team only.  I created it as a reward for those of us who Crunch as a way of saying thank you.  That was this year.  It was open only to the Crunchers on our team and not the Folding side.  They have the bucks so I wanted to say here's what I can do to help recognize our team mates.

Only problem is we have a limited number of crunchers who actively participate on the forum so it makes it difficult to acknowledge those who either choose not to be contacted or just hide in the shadows.  So, it is now the Cruncher of the Quarter.  I had asked for input as to whether we should allow Folders to participate (and still keep it quarterly) but didn't get much feedback on that.  So for now unless otherwise discussed it's Crunchers only.

Viper97 I think that the change to COTQ is a Great Idea.
As for the Folders you do special projects for them like during the Challenges and so on, please do keep this up.
I think what cuarc001 as is a thought but glad we are keeping this within our team Crunching@EVGA and Crunchers.
A Great Year Crunching@EVGA we have had this year and hope to continue into 2015.

A Merry Christmas and a Great Happy New Year to All.
