I'm considering buying my wife the sims 4 for Christmas, but I'd like her to unwrap it.
I also want a digital copy, because that's my preference and I can support the account etc.

Can I enter CD keys into origin from new games, specifically the sims 4?
I've found limited information on the subject online, so I don't know...

You should have no problems redeeming the game on Origin. That is the only place you can download the game from. I would avoid buying it from Gamestop. If you have no choice but to buy it from Gamestop, ask the clerk if the code inside the box is to use on Origin or is it for gamestop website which then gives you a code to redeem the game on Origin.

Preorders of BF4 they gave out keys that only worked on Gamestop site. You had to make an account just to get the code to use on Origin. Talk about a hassle.

Usually, Gamestop sells it both ways.  Double check with your local one...if they have hard copy...tell em to hold for you and get there...
