Hello Community! The EVGA classified gtx 980 is my First EVGA card!
However, I have seen some problems... On the first day of having the gtx 980, I was able to stabilize at +135 core clock and +200 memory clock, which was all done in EVGA precision x 16, and successfully benchmarked, with the use of unigine heaven and valley, at that speed without any kind of voltage increase, (I don't bother touching these things). I played Skyrim, which had enb mods and all, league of legends, and battlefield 4 without any driver problems. However, after 1 day, it is not capable of overclocking +80mhz (1510 mhz) or +70mhz core clock (1500 mhz) on the core clock while playing games such as Civ 5 and League of legends, (the memory clock was just set down to default). Doing so will lead to driver failure or even a gray screen of death with my 2nd monitor working, or it will hard lock my whole entire system and freeze it with a buzzing noise. I have clean installed my nvidia card as well. In game temperatures are only 38 degrees Celsius. The highest I saw it was ~60, but only in games such as BF4 and skyrim. I'm awfully sorry for asking the community, but I just want to confirm it's one of these cases: Is it a card problem? Did I just lose really hard on the EVGA classified lottery? Is it just the game? I'm just wondering since I've been seeing so many wonderful results on this card in multiple reviews and multiple users.
I am running the latest Nvidia Driver. My psu is the corsair g700. My ram is corsair dominator 8gb (4x2) at 1866 mhz and my cpu is the i5 3570k at regular speeds. My motherboard is an Asus pz77 lk.
I have tons of patience, so i'm willing to walk it through. I'll update how +10mhz works with these games/overall use..
I appreciate every ounce of assistance provided!!

Classified 980 is a major underperformer for the price.  It's ok when water cooled but you can get other brand cards that are better on air or water cooled and they will be cheaper

I think something is serious wrong with last NVIDIA drivers.
If card pass benchmark on such high clock several times, because +100 MHz on fabric OC is high clock and after that suddenly problems than It's logic to think about drivers. I talk this only if you really sure in stability, and not only Unigine Heaven and Valley. They should be done at the end. First Firestrike Performance, Extreme, Ultra, 3DMark 11 Performance, Extreme, Skydiver, Unigine Heaven 4.0, Valley... unstable card no way to pass... If card finish all tests with Demo first time and second time it's very hard to tomorrow she is not stable. That's very hard. But if some problems show up during these tests you can expect them every moment in any game.

The NVidia 344 drivers are horrible.  I had to go back to 340.52, but that doesn't support the 900 Series cards, unfortunately.

Precision x16 is also very attractive, but not as functional as need be for good overclocking.  Try Precision 4.2.1 (clickable dropbox link) and see if it will work for you.  I do not install Riva Tuner Statistics, but you can if you would like.

I spent the entire weekend testing precision 5.2.7 and could not get my Classifieds (780ti, not the 980 series) to boost past +105 with 5.2.7.  With Prec 4.2.1 I was able to get up to +221.  Give that a try and see if it helps.

Make sure you start by removing 5.2.7 through the control panel and DO NOT save any profiles. Once you reload the legacy Precision, reinstall your drivers, then give it a try.

I will share a video of what happens with NVidia's 344 drivers in just a minute.  Let me make it first.

I know.  Use the 347.09 Beta (hot linked to NVidia Download page).  The video is uploading now.

This video was done at Stock Clocks, and with a single card, the performance is nearly identical.  The point isn't just to show the SLI is a problem, but there are many driver stops during benching with the 344 drivers as well.

As I suggested, try 347.09 as well as Precision 4.2.1 and see if they will let you overclock better.

Ah Thank you very much for the assistance!  Would the evga driver cd work better? Also, would the BIOS switches on the classified card wouldn't have done anything about this, correct? Once again Thank you all!
Update: Thanks, man! It really worked! I guess those 344 drivers are terrible... or precision x 16. I was able to play 1 league game without getting a gray screen. Thank god.
