Hi everyone, I recently purchased a GTX 970 (ACX 2.0) from amazon and notice I didn't get any game codes. Does evga provide codes? Also, I am getting some VERY annoying black horizontal lines or sometimes just entire screen blacked out while playing Bad Company 2. This is an old game from 2010. I thought I could play under ultra settings, scaled down to high and same results. I'm now playing in medium graphic settings and still getting the black lines!! I don't know if its my monitor but the image quality kind of sucks in windows and even youtube. Gonna try and see if its my igpu and disable that in BIOS. I'll report back if i still have black line issue. Anyways, sorry to make such a long post, here are my pc specs: 2600k (stock) z77 asrock extreme4-m antec TPQ 850 corsair dominator 12gb (3 sticks) and most importantly GTX 970 ACX 2.0 (stock) Driver: 344.75

The code is from NVIDIA and goes through the retailer. In other words, ask Amazon about the game code(s). None of us or EVGA can help you with the game code(s).
Intermittent flickering black lines or flickering black screens has plagued BFBC2 with NVIDIA forever as far as I know.
Do the lines randomly flicker from time to time, or are they there all the time?
Which video card did you have installed previously?

^ i used to play this game on a gtx 580 and never had any video issues. its weird, never had issues when i played it back in 2011. I'm starting from a fresh install of windows and a brand new steam/gaming drive. BFBC2 is the only game that is giving me video issues.

wow this really sucks, im still getting the bs black lines. lol a 4 year game is kicking the gtx 970's ass. and to think it was amd that had ****ty drivers. guess i should just get a new game. I even tried the nvidia experience. Still blacked out game screen. :(

Lets see here....BFBC2 came out in 2009, Your GTX 580 was released in 2010. Since then software, drivers and everything else has improved exponentially and you think your new 970 can't handle it.....lets not forget game coding either. My question is....have you done the 8 updates and patches that were released? I don't know what all they do/ include but it might fix your issues. I'm not going to go through all the releases to see what has been changed, some are even auto updates, so it might not even be patchable.

FWIW it took about a week to get my DL codes from Amazon after I ordered my 970s.

What update and patches? Im playing this game from a fresh install of windows, along with a fresh install of everything else, (new gaming drive). I know the 970 can handle this game, just sucks that im getting these black lines.

LOTs of them HERE There were also Auto update ones through BFBC2, whether you can get them or not is questionable.

try a valley benchmark and see if the lines/black screen appears.
If it does, try switching out cable from GPU to monitor and if that fails try lowering your monitor refresh rate in control panel display.

you game codes should come by email directly from Amazon, takes about a week or so.
did you update BFBC2 through Origin?
