My 5930k and X99 FTW was as simple as setting the multiplier to 45 and cpu voltage to 1.350. It's been steady as a rock since. I havent sat down to see if I could lower voltage any yet or not. But I bet I could go down some.

My 5960X takes the same, 45x and 1.35v, which has been close for quite a few 20's and 30's also. Use manual to find the minimum stable voltage, then switch to adaptive. Leave memory on auto (2133) and ring on auto while you figure out the core. Do memory second, then ring last. You may need to add a little to vin while you increase any of those three, it basically feeds everything.

Try running x264 stability test, works really good for testing haswell. I usually will get a crash very quick if the voltage is 10mv off or more on core or ring. Pass that test and add 10mv for insurance, convert a couple BR movies with handbrake, good to go!

I honestly haven't messed with mine because I haven't found any info on it. But on the other side of that I haven't really looked too hard to find out any info on it.

Most people are staying below 1.300v on the ring, and raising the multiplier as close to the core multiplier as possible. There is a small performance boost when you get within 300-500 of your core clock.

I believe windows reads only the stock speed not the overclocked speeds.

On X99 you can't change the non turbo multiplier above the stock rated speed. So windows should be reporting that. If you were to overclock the bclk I believe it would change.

Nice! Could you tells us what cpu voltage mode you used and by how much did you increase the offset? I tried 4.5ghz on adaptive mode with a +125 increase on offset and no luck. Thanks!

On my i7-3770K Windows read 3.5GHz even when CPU work on 4.5GHz, same as on pictures with i7-5930K. AIDA64 Overclock section will exactly tell you clock and % of overclock...

Under the overclock menu. Under the voltage control subheading half way down the page, it states "CPU Voltage Control" click the pulldown and you have override and adaptive. Select from those 2 and adjust from there.

There's no way I can do that voltage and have a stable Oc. I'm starting to think that there's either something wrong with my PSU or mobo. I even tried 1.4 and I still got bsods and lock ups.

Did you set cpu vin to 0.600v more than vcore? It should be around 1.900v to 2.000v somewhere. Near 2V you'll want active cooling on the vregs, they start warming up a bit around there.

@robertoenrique How much voltage u get if u set 45x and vcore on auto? This must be ure target value. Try this CPU Voltage Mode:adaptive Cpu Voltage target:0.0 Cpu Offset Voltage: +.250 (125 is not enough for 4.5) Let the Ring Voltage all on auto u need them only for OC the Cache. Cpu Vin must be 0.5-0.6 more then Vcore. Try 1.8v.Let the drop on auto. Try a run with Prime 95 v 27.9! 1344K = Vcore. 1 hour must be enough for first tests. If u find a stable vcore u can set Ram and test with 800K run . Set allway Ram full in prime. After this a run with 864k would check all componets.Hope u find ure settings.

Ok Homer, Thanks for the help btw. Set multiplier to 45, Voltage to adaptive with an offset of +275 (at +250 Pc kept crashing while running 3dmark 11). Vin is set to 1.8. I'll go ahead and download P95 once I pass a 3dmark loop afterall whats the point using P95 if your OC can't even pass 3dmark. Update: At offset of +275 Pc keeps crashing on 3dmark. What puzzles me is that under AIDA 64 stress test it doesn't lock up. Currently trying with +300 which imo is kinda high. CPU Voltage at 1.369 (my temps are going to suck) 2nd Update At offset +300 Ieft running AIDA 64 for 2 hours + and no issues, although my temps got a bit nasty, 89C in one core, ambient temp is 29C. I'm gona stick with these settings for a while and if it holds up I'll try to lower the offset a bit. Vin still at 1.8 all the rest is set to auto including memory.

My 5960x wanted close to same voltage, but would get blue screen from cpu vin. Mine is at 1.925v with 45x, it gets very hungry! 😋

Can someone post a download link for Prime 95 v 27.9? The latest version immediately maxes out my CPU temps and my Pc crashes. NM found it. Ran Small FFTs and my temps still skyrocket. One core in particular is 10C+ compared to the rest. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my chip.

Not sure I would say its the chip but possibly the seating. Did you seat it well without the effects of possibly any debris or bubbles? Not just the TIM but the loop as well. That can shoot 10+ degrees on a core while all the others are normalized. Is the block tight enough on the CPU but not too tight so you don't bend a pin?
