Hi all I've been having this problem for a couple of months and it seems to have gotten worse. This happens stock and overclocked, my gpus during gaming will drop to 0% for a spit second and then will go back to normal. It seems to happen randomly during the game. It happens in battlefield 4 and world of warcraft. This happened to me with a single card, picked up another 780 ti and continues to happen. No stability issues or crashes but the random drop to 0% gpu usage. I've recently done a fresh install, installing software one by one then testing and monitoring my processes. I thought it was related to my asus rog front base drivers/asus processes. Without my asus front base drivers installed i went a whole day without this issue in battlefield 4, i continued testing the next day but the problem came back. It seems to happen randomly and is very annoying, leading me to a driver issue. I've seen a bunch of people complaining of the same exact issue on nvidia's forums. Was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue and if they have found a solution? also im running in surround 5840x1080 3 x asus vg248qe Thanks Systemcore i7 4790k 4.5ghz 16gb gskill tridentx 2400mhz asus maximus vii hero 2x780 ti evga supernova 1000 g2 2xmx100 raid 0 h110 corsair 450d windows 8.1 pro asus rog front base

Could you check your Event Viewer and see if there's anything in there reporting an error either with the kernel drivers or the hardware itself? It would be very strange for this to continue happening with three separate cards tested individually. At that point, it could be driver or OS related, or perhaps an issue with power. With what you've told us so far, I wouldn't think it's an issue with the cards themselves. If you continue to have issues, please let us know. You can contact support by calling 888-881-EVGA (3842), emailing support@evga.com or submitting a trouble ticket under one of your cards at EVGA.com.

Anything special about those drivers? Nothing in event viewer, have not had a single crash/tdr with these cards. I only have a warning in event viewer for "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&1." Sorry for any confusion, but i have 2 cards. One card I've had since they were released. I started having this problem with the first card on my old system, then i bought a second card for a new build. I'm still having the same problem on a new build with the 2 cards. At this point I'm testing each card individually and will try a single monitor. Thanks

They have been reported to stop 0% GPU usage drops inside Unigine Heaven 4.0. Maybe they will help with your issue.

I do not have asus ai suite installed. I've been testing out a single card since yesterday and have not had a single problem/gpu usage drop. Maybe the issue is related to the other card. I'll continue to test and report back. Thanks

Tested the second card just now in battlefield, within 5 mins got red/blue and blackish artifacts and within 15 mins had the gpu usage drop to 0 for a split second. Looks like i'll be rmaing the card. Thanks for everyone's help.

It's possible that's what he was referring to, but after testing his cards one at a time, it appears that regardless of any driver/game issue, his second card clearly had issues with stability/artifacting. That doesn't mean any of the other advice here isn't worth trying, but fortunately, it appears the issue occurs only on the second card, and not the first.

you are running 3 monitors in surround 5840x1080, is it possible the drop the 0% is due to the vram usage maxing out? the 780's are only 3GB cards which is not enough for that resolution. try playing on just 1 monitor to test this and see if the problem still occurs.

I read for similar problem on Maximus Hero 6 or 7 with completely different GeForce card. But I don't want to blame ASUS or motherboard, only say and any motherboard could be reason for such problem. Always is good someone close to you with good computer and to try graphic cards there. In many cases it can eliminate or detect culprit. Every component you have are first class.

I was just recently having issues with PhysX for some odd reason just now had to remove physX and the nvidia drivers completely and did a fresh install of both and now it works fine. Wierd.

I just wanted to update this thread. After trying 331.82 or 331.93 my stuttering issues are resolved. The only problem with the drivers is i cant run sli and surround at the same time, so i've opted to run sli on one montior with different sli auto and imported sli profiles from the newest driver. I also have to disable driver signature verification each reboot for the driver to load. Every driver after these give me drops to 0% gpu usage for a split second. Thanks for the info sajin. Nviida needs to take this issue more seriously and pinpoint the problem in the current drivers.

There is a workaround. Make a custom res, set the timing to CVT reduced blank and you're good to go.

I could not set my timing to CVT reduced blank. It was out of range for the SWIFT. As such, I tried dropping back to 344.48 and the extended hang is now a minute stutter. Where it would hang for a full second before... Now it's just a fraction of a second which is completely playable through. I will continue to test but so far 344.48 has yielded best results for me. Edit: Not to mention, CoD:AW actually connected the first time now instead of me clicking Play Online 16 times before finally going through. Dunno if it's related or not. Edit #2: Stutter is back but doesnt last as long. Not the split second it was on my first edit... but not as long as it was doing with the latest drivers. idfk what to do.

I'm sorry you can't get your swift to 144hz and the stutter is extremely annoying. Have you tried this? http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-NVIDIA-Pixel-Clock-Patcher I've used this with my overlord monitor to reach above 60hz. See if you can reach 120 or 144hz with this and 331.82 or 331.93.

Anyone know how we can bring this to nvidia's attention? This has been happening to me for a long time, maybe 5 to 6 months. It sucks not being able to use surround and sli at the same time with this driver that is over a year old. I've posted on the geforce forums and sent pms to mods there. Hopefully they will fix it soon but its been happening for so long, who knows. Also are you guys running windows 8.1 or 7? wondering if it related to 8.1
