Wait.. so this "FTW" card is pretty much as good as the 980 Classified and it's $120 cheaper? o_0
 
The NewEgg version seems to be a 'regular' 980 SC w/ a new blower style and NOT the FTW version, right?
 
And I just bought 2 of the 'new' Classifieds yesterday. LOL...

Not really, the cooler and pcb are smaller on the FTW + only 6 power phases / dual bios 
Classy has 14 power phases and triple bios
 
Newegg does not have the FTW yet, thats the new 980 ref blower / same as titan cooler but -$50

still no reply on what exactly was the vrm change? new chokes new mosfets new pwm controller? something? info guys...we need infoooooo

FTW is good but not as Classified. 
I would like and forever to keep Classified Member Status if that's possible.

"New" reference cooler? Looks more like the old GTX 680 reference blower. There's no way I'd go for that versus the "standard" 980 reference cooler - or whatever it's called (Titan-style). Is it really the "same" (performance-wise) as the Titan-style one? I find that hard to believe.

They will both offer the same cooling performance. The titan style cooler on the 900 series doesn't use a vapor chamber.
