Both are GTX 980 classifieds so can anyone tell me what changed?

    In the Classified thread, Jacob said it was a slight change with the VRM, and the BIOS' should not be crossed between the two, so don't flash the older bios to the new part number.

    Past that, still trying to figure everything out. Unfortunately, I will not be spending money for these yet.

    I had been Googling the 980 Classified every day for weeks waiting for some to come in stock at NewEgg and EVGA's site.  They had been out of stock for a long time and finally went back into stock today and I too noticed the different manufacturer part number from '2988' to '3988'.  So I just ordered one of the newer ones.  I hope it performs even better than the original one!  I'm psyched!  They are already out of stock on EVGA.  WOW!!!
