Is it safe to use molex to PCI-E adapters?

Is it safe to use molex to PCI-E adapters? the 6 or 8 pin type.....thanks

    Most Video Cards come with Two Molex Connectors
    You need Two Molex Connectors for One PCIe Power Connector.
     
    My GTX 980 Graphics Card came with 2 Each Two 4-Pin Molex Connectors to One 6-Pin
    My GTX 780 Graphics Card came with 1 Each Two 4-Pin Molex Connectors to 6-Pin and 1 Each Two 4-Pin Molex Connectors to 8-Pin

    Yes, but connect them to different "legs" or cables from the PSU, otherwise you may melt the wiring from the PSU if you put them on the same line.

    If you are using a mid range card then its ok but if you plan on using it on a power hungry card like GTX 780 or R9 290, honestly it is not worth the risk.

    I have done a rif6 pcie16x to 1x USB3.0 to PCIe adapter with a 600b EVGA power supply external to main PC with no issues even got it to be 4x gen three speed with a 780 card. I have a picture of it in my steam artwork.
