[Yeah, I got the game for free with the 980 but now I already want another one for SLI.

I just got a 980 as well and I want another one too!!!!    I feel naked without SLI.

Been there done that but beware, until they fix FC4 and Nvidia helps... you are going to get ghosting in SLI.  It's a bit like doing bad acid.

Actually I found that AA causes a LOT of issues (post v1.5 patch) in this game.

With anything other than TXAA I get issues with ghosting, texture glitches and shadow/shader problems. Of course the converse is that with TXAA on, my FPS drop way down, and there is much more variation in FPS.

Even with the horsepower of two 970s I can't pull off ultra settings with 4x TXAA. As a middle ground I've taken to using 2x TXAA, but FPS still suffer and can drop below 60 in some areas.

That said, those with more modest rigs should just turn AA off for now IMO.

Also I always thought that was a sign of good acid not bad?

I think i have figured out a way to regain some of the god rays that seemed to have been toned out in patch 1.5. I just changed my sli bits from default Farcry 4 to 0x080020F5 in Nvidia Inspector and I must say, the god rays are back (not as much as before 1.5 but definitely a lot better) and I cant see not performance difference at all. Give these a try.

P.S I applied these bits to both Dx1x and default sli bits.

I tried all AA methods and none are good. In the start just stand at the right side (of the balcony? :p) and look at the helicopter's blades. AA NIGHTMARE!. Plus the helicopter is some how red and not black. Turn everything low and the helicopter turns back in to it's original color.

I use SMAA.

Edit: No more stuttering now. Turned shadows from soft shadows to low. Driving quads makes the game skip a bit but extremely playable. First I was crashing all over the place.

This is mainly a FC3, It plays the same way only difference is the country and the animals. Those darn snakes! Wolves in packs, rhinos and the honey badger. You do get to fly in a helicopter. The latest patch fixed the total darkness when night fell. I have yet to experience any of the stuttering as of yet. Game looks great but just a better rehash of FC3. Just my opinion.

Been there, done that. Nevermore! I finally got the 'City of Pain' mission finished. It only took me three days of frustration. Now I'm on to capture the 'Brick Factory' for my babe, whatever her name is.

So I played a few hours on and off this weekend. I still get a hard crash to the desktop every couple of hours (requires a full reboot about 50% of the time). it seems to happen whenever it goes to a loading screen... like after i die.  Anyone else? Any ideas! Do y'all think this just the game or the Nvidia drivers?

I wish the game would stop the crashing nonsense b/c I am really enjoying this game.  Going around in stealth with the bow. Not making much game progress but having a blast!!

No problems with crashing but everything is playing nice and smooth. I finished 2 of the Willis missions after freeing the Airport and I'm just about to try the 3rd and final phase of the Willis Trilogy.

The more I play, the more pathetic it becomes. Extremely bad game. Bad level designing, bad story etc.

Well, finished it. 6/10. Only plus were graphics/really nice setting and all voice acting EXCEPT our own. Same old, plain, bland voice I AM SICK of hearing everywhere.

No bloody point in capturing north. Just did all the campaign missions today and was done.

33 hours and 55.35 percent done.

I'll still get it eventually - in fact I was hoping to get it sooner (with Christmas sales) to complete the franchise...

Rofl I've literally had 4 download keys for this game due to it coming free with recent purchases. I'd say it's worth actually paying for if you utilize the coop mode and/or intend to explore the game in it's entirety.

Speaking of which, while you CAN beat this game early on, there's no reason it has to be like that. I'm sure I could also have passed Fallout 3, New Vegas, and/or any of the GTA games a lot quicker than it originally took me, but I'm the person who plays the side quests and wants to uncover all the secrets. I don't think having this as an option detracts from the quality of the game. You could beat it in 30 hours, sure... or 100+, it really depends on what you want to get done.

Well, I think my GPU has overpowered my overclocked 980X

My old 780SC was giving me a consistent average 57-60fps, now my 980ti hybrid is not doing much better with an average of 63-65fps

I want to confirm, Is my 980X holding back my 980Ti?

Are you monitering system usage while playing? Watch for your CPU cores hitting 100% or close to it utilization. You could try OCing your cpu to see if it helps.

Ya, using Afterburner for monitoring.

Core # 3 is @ 100% ( noticed that on every Intel processor on youtube as well )...

I'm not sure what is going on, playing @ 1080P, 120hz, turning MSAA up or down has very little effect. Game is now constantly crashing.

Things I've changed before this all this started happening
System memory ( from 6GB to 12GB ) (stable in prime95 blend test for hours )
New GPU ( upgrade from 780SC ASX to 980Ti Hybrid ) Overclocking the GPU 85-100mhz increases the frame rate by the expected 5-7FPS

I'm going to do some more testing and re-install my 780SC, and see if that changes things.

My FPS in Far Cry 4 was about the same using a GTX-980 either single or in SLI at 144 Hz. I don't think there's anything you can do to change that. One CPU core was always pegged at 100% while the others fluctuated. It does use around 4 GB of VRAM with everything maxed out.
