What if you set them to run PCIe x8 in the Bios?

What if you set them to run PCIe x8 in the Bios?


One card should run at x16 (slot #1) and the other should run at x8 (slot #4). If I had to set them to both run at x8 to get them to work on the board I would return it ASAP as it's not running the card's like it should.

There is no option is bios to set them to run at 16x. I'm thinking is a board issue also

With that CPU you can't run both at x16/x16.  I know its either x8/x8 or x16/x8.
 
Edit: I almost forgot to add, you should make sure your BIOS is up to date.

Bios is up to date. Weird that cards only work in slot one and two. Runs at 8x and 4x

Than you might have a board issue.

Update- decided to RMA the board for a second time this week "first board wouldn't post at all". I will for sure keep everyone updated when I recieve the new board

UPDATE: Got the new MB today and having the same issues. EVGA thinks it the CPU. SO I called intel and they had me download a diagnostic tool to run. The cpu passed every test the tool ran. Intel believes the cpu is fine.They seem to think is a bios thing with EVGA. And what sucks is Intel DOES NOT issue rma without a failure code of some sort. Im just annoyed by everything. If I just run one card everything is fine. can play any game I have flawlessly . Passes every stress test I run. It just won see anything in slot 4. Guess my only option is to RMA the CPU to Newegg but I have a feeling this is gonna go on for a while. I will keep updating you

That diagnostic tool is garbage. Tell them to replace it. My 3930k didn't even want to stay on, and they said it was fine. Just send it back. Annoy them if you have to.

Ok I RMAd the CPU to newegg. I talked them into giving me a refund which took some doing since its a non refund product. So instead of getting another 5820k I ordered. 5930k and should have it tuesday. Hopefully this fixes everything. I'll let you know

He just did a step up basically. Sent the 5820k back for a 5930k.

^^^^Yes. Would have liked to have known if it were a 5820k problem or not. But I do believe it was a cpu problem. I just decided to get the better cpu.
