Hi I just got a z87 classified and was wondering I can use a 4690 it cost less then the 4690 or is it just for the z97?

    Yes, just make sure your bios is up to date. The board was out for a while before the cpu, so you have to update to make it compatible.

    Thanks for the repys. So should I power it up the fist time with one of my 4770's update the bios then put in the 4690

    If you haven't already, yes, put in one of your 4770's, update the BIOS, then try out the 4690.

     updated the bios and works great I decided to put it in one of my z87 hadron pc's since the temps are suppose to be better thanks
