Just watched the last one in High Framerate last night, it was awesome.  All those huge battles were smooth as glass, no motion blur, movie was intense, gave solid closure and in the end went back to the beginning of the movies.  I really enjoyed them, the other half is an avid Tolkien fan and she loved it as well.
Overall I am very happy with the movies both from the enjoyment standpoint as well as the technology.  Going forward, any action movie that has an offer of HFR I will see it in that first and foremost, also the 3D effects looked really good too.  Normally 3D doesn't jump out for me, but it did here, but unlike movies where it looked like it tried to come off of the screen, it was more subtle and was more immersive, especially the 3D effects of the snow.

Little tired today, but otherwise, no regrets on the movie and would definitely do it again!

Unfortunately no.  However I am really looking forward to it.  Thanks for the quick review.

Saw it last afternoon. Will see it again on Saturday next. It's a good film and flowed very well in my opinion.

I saw it last night in 3D - it was a bit odd to me.

Saw it yesterday, AVX screening 4k digital projection, no 3D. Kinda odd as the theater was not even 1/5th full.

I enjoyed the movie, though the massive battle scenes seemed even less 'realistic' than usual (not that the others were realistic either, but they were passable), and the orc 'veteran' army even more inept at fighting than the future ones. The beginning just seemed so anti-climatic too, it really hurt the film that it was split up where it was.

I personally hated the movie. Too many random coincidence scenes and too much Lord of the Ring time wasted. I wish this had come first and they would have made it two movies instead of 3.
