I have an issue with my new 980s in SLI. Whenever I do a cold boot, my monitor does not display the correct resolution (2560x1440). It is much lower than it should be. FWIW I am using DisplayPort. Restarting at the login screen fixes the issue. I am using 344.75 drivers. Any ideas why this happens?

Go into safe mode.. uninstall the driver, reboot
Download Nvidia drivers and tick the clean install box.

Tried it. Did not work. Same issue on cold boot. The driver detects the native resolution at 1920x1080, which is obviously incorrect.

You should be able to right click on the generic model in device monitor and install drivers by disk if your monitor came with one or the website has it.

The PB278Q does not come with a disk, nor are there any drivers available for it, as far as I can tell..

Well it's a driver problem.. search the internet for asus pb278 whql driver or try using an older version of Nvidia drivers is all i can think of right now. Also, maybe someone has this monitor and knows a workaround.

I found that particular driver youre talking about, and can't install it for some reason. Oh well. I guess I'll just wait for an update from NVIDIA. Didnt have this issue with my 780TI's.

I have a similar setup and don't have the problem, I doubt it's the monitor. But for what it's worth, Win7 Pro64 defaults the refresh @ 59hz and won't let me change it to 60hz. And no amount of searching will find a monitor driver that doesn't exist.
1-I'll assume you're using the DP cable that came with the monitor?
2-Have you tried different DP ports from the cards?
3-Have you updated the bios on the MB?

You could also try and build a custom driver. Google custom monitor driver or overclocking monitor. As you can guess building a custom driver will allow you to overclock the refresh rate, be warned it's possible to destroy your monitor by doing so.

Yes, using the cable that came with the monitor. I have tried using the different ports; same result. The BIOS on my motherboard is the current release (2.13). Again, I did not have this issue with the 780Ti's I just replaced.

I'm running a PG278Q. Device manager lists it as Generic too. I don't have these issues, I'm not running 980's though. Try driver 347.09

Just tested it with DVI. Worked fine. I will be sticking with DVI for now until the next official driver release.
