Personally I think the EVGA Hydro blocks are too thick.  Honestly I can't make that call just yet since I still have to spool myself back up on this project.  I did all the designing and didnt touch it for a long time so now I have to learn it all over again.  I likely won't do anything until monday though, since its Thanksgiving and all.

Hope all of you enjoy your holiday!

Go take a break nateman. Eat lots of turkey and pie and forget all about water blocks and stuff for a couple days. You deserve it. And thank you for the service you do for all of us crazy people that merge water and electronics lol.

All setup and ready for blocks on my FTW. Going to run without them for now though.

This will be clean and excellent build.
I can't recognize case.

Sorry for the slow response Vlada. The case is a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra full tower. Here is the case before and after I played with it a little.

^Rosewill surprised me on a few items, excellent quality for the $$$.  The Rosewill Lightning 1300W and Hercules 1600W psu's are great.  Those quality screw-on cable to psu connectors on the lightning are among the best I've ever seen.

EK is the only company that I know of that makes motherboard blocks, and they said they have no plans for doing one for the X99 Classified.

What?  Like the heat pipe on the top left of this board that EK makes a block for? I know you are just taking a stab, but I thought it was funny that was the reason you decided on LOL.  At least the x99 Classified can maintain the I/O shield without the heat pipe being removed.  Let's see ASUS do that.  People have been using a Dremel to remove this heat pipe, just to maintain the I/O Shield for aesthetics.

Can the Asus board still use the top slot with GPU;s that have thick back plates? With the alphacool back plates on my 760's I can't use EVGA's I/O cover due to interference. Wonder if they have that problem with the EVGA Hydro blocks and back plates?

Wouldnt that be the pount of getting watercooling blocks. To remove the passive heatsinks and pipe and get water blocks.

I completely forgot to. Provide the picture... I have no issues removing the Ram of clearing the EVGA backplate with the Rampage V Extreme. The latches are single sided, unlike EVGA Ram slots. No trying to figure out how to get something wedged in there to remove the DIMM..

They do sit closer to the I/O shield, making it impossible to get to the rear case fan header without removing DIMM 1, but at least every fan header is 4 pin PWM in the board.

and I make a block for that board too.

EDIT:
my apologies, I was referring to the ASX-11 for the X79.  I am considering the X99 version as well.  I may have some interested parties for this block.

Think he meant thick backplate made from acrylic which are 2-3mm thicker than the evga backplate.

That was why I sent the picture, so he could reference the backplate from EVGA compared to what he wants to use. As I do not have any other backplates to try, I would not be able to appropriately. Answer the question. I can say, for a fact that I have less issues getting RAM out of the RVE compared to the Micro.

I kinda feel evga messed up on the first version of x99 classy, especially the double latch ram and m.2 slots and a few other things.... come on evga give us a revision lol.

Starting to design the tool plate now.

Which blocks should I start first?  Classy, FTW, or micro?

Im up and running right now. So Im in no rush for the blocks on my FTW. So classy or micro get my vote for those in higher need. My blocks wont be going on until I tear the loop down to either change GPU's or perform maintenance.

Count me in on the Classified, both blocks.  If my two 780 hydro coppers have clearance issues, I'll just upgrade my cards and get third party blocks for them.
