That time again... New rig???

I currently have nothing so remember that when suggestions are made... So I have $1800 to get a computer... While I eoukd like a desktop I'm always mobile now and need a laptop unless I could be convinced otherwise... Anyways need suggestions after my research I'm still needing suggestions... Laptops? Desktop? (Desktops are better I know). Which laptop??? Size doesn't matter to me no pun intended..

    Gaming and school I already know what of get if I was building a desktop... And of course it'd be all under water as well because that's how I rolls... lolz....

    One have GTX980M inside and it's little more other have GTX880M and difference is probably big.
    It's stupid because 24GB cost at least 150$ more than 16GB, and that's enough.
    But I vote for desktop.

    other things later, and something little stay + you can save money with some rebate or hot deals or similar things. 
    If ASUS notebook start to make you problem your kids will get replace for their education.

    Personally I would go with alienware 17 (Build your own). Those ASUS ROG's are way off the $1800 price and if your gonna watercool, that may take a desktop off your budget.
