Re: Project: 900D Monster Xtreme 2014/11/21 02:09:50 (permalink)
Hi guys,

I do some test to check the length of the screws with a double plexy layer

on the top of Cooling Tower

with a double plexy layer and  the grid on Cooling Tower

on first Frontal

on second Frontal

on lateral fans Block

And then I decided to start painting, even if it is the painting of the internal parts.

In theory, I could'ot make it, but in this way so everything will be clean and tidy.
The problem is the complexity of TdR, I'll do one at a time and unmount the various parts that will paint separately.

At the end, when I'll assemble and teste plexy covers if there is need I'll give one last hand.

But let's start by the tower that I had to disassemble, remove the paper tape residual, fill hole a few more, sanded and cleaned with acetone

Gone with the Primer

The paint is already dry on the surface, anyway I will give another hand tomorrow

Actually it is much better and above there is another layer of aluminum that I have taken apart, so it will be even better

Here's the second Cooling Tower and then the two together with the case, the color is matte black, there are some imperfection, but this is only a first painting and we don't see it because it'll be cover

Here painted the inside partes of the case, the frame

I picked up the Cooling Towers, Aquatube and Aqua Filter supports, a nice set of screws and I mount the screws that will be used to secure the plexy and the famous grids.
Into the screws heads slots I used a two-component glue and now I put the screws in place with a nut, that then I will remove, the screws are different lengths, depending if they whether should also hold or not the grids

And here is the effect of the grid and the test with 2 layers of plexy as planned

Overview comparison:

I anticipate that tomorrow I'm in one of the secret EMF headquarters to work with our @ C3r34L KilL3rs at the Plexy covers..........

Last Saturday I had the pleasure to come back to visit one of EXTREME MODDING FACTORY headquarters  and to work with the great C3r34L KilL3rs, this time we dealt plexy covers for my case as planned, the parties were already been cut with a little of margin

and we then brought them to the precise measurement with this mega CNC, the C3r34L KilL3rs's Frankenstein Machine

Then we went on this other CNC  to do the  finer working and that's the 8 main parts that we made

While I was there I improvised a hot bending test on a black plexy scrap to see how the material react

Test passed, no color change

Thank you again to C3r34L KilL3rs  and Tombino-, their decision to sponsor me, as well as great for my project allowed me to meet two fantastic guys that now I can truly call friends

Back to my secret lab after the weekend with C3r34L KilL3rs at  EXTREME MODDING FACTORY I went to make final changes to my case, so to assemble the plexy parts made and finally see the effect that I thought for the fans openings.

For these Concept and Effect I was inspired by a couple of mods that I've seen even though they were different, I still have to say THANKS to kierRichard Keirsgieter, a Plexy Magician Modder with whom I had discussed it and he gave me a number of suggestions.

I have reassemble the parts and tried quickly the plexy; then I  assemble completely the case  to do a plexy and fans test and especially to see the effect, even if not complete

Re: Project: 900D Monster Xtreme 2014/11/26 09:13:44 (permalink)
Hi Guys,

you may have noticed that I have attached  grids  to the case only through the holes in the corners, however, to get the studded effect I wanted,  I made more holes a average 8 per grid, in those holes that aren't needed to put the fastening screws  I put shorter screws  with a nut on the outside.
On the inside of the grid, however, where is the screw head, there is also the edge of the perforated sheet which I glued and this cluttered preventing these screws to be perfectly straight.
Therefore I will go to remove a small semicircular parts so those screws will be perfectly level.

And here's the result

I remind you that on the inner part of the grids, once they are painted, I will put some nice rubber adhesive strips that I have already prepared, which will serve both to interpose between plexy and metal both for pieces finishing.

Re: Project: 900D Monster Xtreme 2014/11/30 09:42:49 (permalink)
Hi Guys,

Saturday another Modding-Day to EXTREME MODDING FACTORY with my friend C3r34L KilL3rs, also this time we dealt with plexy covers for 900D Monster Xtreme now I have a lot of work to do with the material accumulated.

But let's cut to the chase, here are the pieces prepared the previous times and the various projects printed.

First step the C3r34L KilL3rs' s Frankenstein Machine,  where we do the outside of the parts

The case top

the 4 Red plexy cover of Cooling Towers

and the 4 Black

Then we moved to another CNC to make the internal workings

here is the Red cover of Cooling Towers

and the Black

and finally the various pieces together

All black plexy parts that you see, and that have strange shapes, will be folded and shaped  on the case.
So there is a lot of work yet, but in the meantime we also celebrated the day together
with the new Baladin Double Malt beer with a bitter aftertaste

Thank you as always to C3r34L KilL3rs and Tombino- my first sponsors and friends.

Incredible setup...4x GTX780Ti KP Classified, my favorite card...I can dream only about this.
It would be nice if EVGA build same PCB for GM200/GM210 because same waterblock EK 780 Classy for more cards.
Now is compatible and with GTX980 Classified I think.

OK But instead of sponsorship EVGA constant offer some free hardware as prize or win content, gaming parties and similar...
You must understand that 4xGTX780Ti KP Classified cost 3500$.
I think sponsorship very rear past 200-300$...
Usually brands offer fans, something for water cooling, some mid range motherboard or mini or something like that.
And very rear people get free hardware before he build some nice project for their money and than forum members follow that long time and after that he can talk about some project to present plans to some brands.
From other side that's and responsibility when you get something...
ASUS is much bigger manufacturer and sell hardware in 10x more countries than EVGA, but I didn't saw someone to get
example premium motherboard, premium graphic card and premium sound card for some project in same time...
And that's only 1/3 price of 4x K|NGP|N ...

Did you submit your request for sponsorship through the proper EVGA channels? Please note that EVGA gets requests like this quite a bit as far as I understand it so not everyone can be sponsored.

Vlada011 I explained it bad,I bought  X79 Dark and my 4 GTX780Ti Classified KPE own, then after I asked the sponsorship, I would have been satisfied with 1 PSU.
Consider that Enermax and LEPA give me a Lepa G-1600 and 46 fans!
Bitspover 140 between fittings, Tanks and pumps tops.
But the thing I regret the most is that I would really like to include the brand EVGA between my sponsors, even for a minimal participation ...

ok ok guys, it isn't a problem, it will be for another time, I think this discussion we can finish here, I don't want make controversy about it.
I want to finish by saying that I love the EVGA products, that IMHO they are best as MoBo and VGAs and I will choose them anyway
PS.
Your PC is weak, pump up it with EVGA

Hi guys,

given the number of sponsors that I have achieved I had to change a little the project, reviving an idea that I had set aside: the second window behind the 900D, where I'll make a panel for sponsors, this solution makes the case totally symmetrical each side, as I had thought at the beginning.

I took the panel with the window and I used it as a model, I marked and cut back, then much work file

Here's the comparison with the original

I put the panels in place and I drilled the case to fix them, the frontal

and the rear just modified

A preview on upcoming work ....
