I'm about to get started on Thanksgiving dinner. anyone else stuck with kitchen duty this year? I usually get stuck with peeling potatoes but this is the first year that I had the entire thing rest on only my shoulders.

I no longer celebrate Thanksgiving since living in Europe so someone eat some turkey white meat for me.

I am not celebrating thanksgiving either even though my family is all together at my sisters place. I decided to spend this thanksgiving by myself. I hate celebrating holidays anyways except for Christmas and Easter since its about Jesus. Regardless no lie, I am thankful everyday that I am just alive and that I dont go to sleep hungry and thirsty in a warm bed. But happythanks giving anyways peeps!

Love to cook myself so I'm not to concerned and being only for four people that only thing massive is the 15lb bird, I will be eating turkey sandwiches and plates for the next week. Going with a lot of from scratches this year also. But opted for boxed stuffing. THree of the best things I've learned from years of cooking. These have saved me many trips to the supermarket Adding one tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 C milk makes butter milk Adding Molasses to white sugar makes Brown Sugar, add more or less molasses for light or dark. (Personally loved this one it really opens up way more types of brown sugar than what is available in store) Instead of oil in cake mixes and brownie mixes use apple sauce instead.

That is why I'm thankful it is only me and mines this year really cuts down on the drama, but regardless of that my father loved the holidays so I will try and keep the two alive for him at least. This will be the third holiday season without him.

We had turkey, home-made biscuits, candied yams, green beans, cabbage, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, potato salad, stuffing, and red velvet cake. All for 2 adults and my one not picky eater. The other one is eating cake. One kid eats everything (and i mean everything) the other eats nothing. Man I gave myself way to much time to cook. my wife was due home at 5:30 also and i was basically done by 2pm, my turkey was done at noon.

Happy Thanksgiving to all !!! For the last 25 years or so we have skipped the turkey and had Stone Crab Claws. Served with clarified garlic butter, mustard garlic mayo, or warmed in a spicy Cajun boil. My homemade coleslaw, and some kind of potato, this year is oven fried crinkle cut Ore-Ida's. Pecan pie and ice cream for desert. Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving!
