I know most of us do shopping online but who here is going to seize the day and venture outside you know IRL for the occasional low price.  What are you planning on picking up or got your heart set on?

Bfads.net has the majority of the sales ads already released, not to mention they were in this Sunday's paper.

I'll be out, but working. Getting paid 8 hours Holiday pay, plus double time on the hours I work. Pretty much making triple pay that day.

Yeah my wife has to work, wonder how long she is going to be able to stay in the photo lab before moved to another department.  Holiday pay is an extra dollar.

If I do "go shopping" it'll be online and only for things that are really on sale and really aren't crap.

I'll be shopping from the comforts of my computer chair. Although the deals kinda stink from what I've seen so far.

I've been out in the madness a few times. I waited at 2 in the morning in freezing weather for 4 hours at a Best Buy and 2 times at a Walmart. i will never do it again. I saw moms literally ripping toys apart in tug of wars and people taking things out of other peoples shopping carts. After all that, I started researching and most of the door busters stuff is very limited stock and a lot of the electronics are models made for that particular store and often have crippled specs. I am keeping my eye out for a cheap barebones kit and maybe a cheap Bluetooth speaker but that's it and it will all be done online.

I missed a micro atx board this morning fo $15 after rebate so the deals are already selling out!

Online only, this year.  With needing a new sound card, since my old one just died, not a lot of money and that unholy Steam Sale, there won't be much left over (besides Turkey) that I'd want this year.

One of the most shameful and barbaric days of the year for America. I will never participate or support that garbage. Lives are more important then so called "hot" items. People don't see it that way. Its all about me first and bragging rights. Animals. I have always managed to get better or just as good deals online in the comfort of my home. Shopping at retail is so out dated.

With the online option, I may not have to go out, and get up early this time. I have to see what deals are what, and where.

Online it will always take longer to receive the product at home.
When I ordered a FullHD TV set (yup waited a couple of years until the price for them was very decent), it took 3-4 hours for the order to be assigned to a consultant and then 3 days until the product was reserved.. Because it was taking long, I personally went to the store and in less than 10 minutes I had my TV set tested as well.
Reason for this was that the department that handled online orders had millions of orders to go through and so little time to address each and every one. They actually worked on night shifts as well just to take some load of their hands from he new orders that are made the next day.
I think that we are heading in the wrong direction .. Indeed for people that leave 100 km away from the store, it is easier to order online and receive your product intact but when you leave in the same city, minutes away from the store, ordering online when you have the means to go and pick it up yourself is convenience to say at least..
Besides this, at least in my country the best deals were not made online. I put my hands n a NX300 camera with 150 EUR off just by going through some of the retailer stores..Online the best price for it was with around 80 EUR discount.
Indeed it was the only model they had in store, and that is the reason I usually disconsdering Black Friday offers but you can get some nice deals if you know what to look for.

Man its amazing how gullible people are. Come on people your not actually getting discounted prices on products! Take for example those "door buster deals." The strategy behind it is not just for the retail outlet to seem super charitable at "discounted" prices (that be too nice of them). Its made to entice mass amounts of people to visit the retailer in big discounted items. But once your in the store their jobs are done. The surprise is that these "door buster deals" are VERY limited. Generally the retailers tend to only have for example 10 TVs.  So basically you worked hard to get into the store and you were not able to get one of the "door buster deals" that you were hoping. So in the retailers marketing strategy is that since that happened to you they hope that you will buy their other products in which most are not marked down at all or are showing the HIGHEST allowed retail price with a percentage knocked off making it look like your getting a deal but your mostly likely paying for what you would normally. Its like Amazon is infamous for this all year round. Pretty much any product you look on Amazon is shown as a certain percentage off or marked down but thats because they are showing literally the HIGHEST amount retail price that they are allowed to show. Usually you can find that product in a store for the same price. Amazon takes a lot of liberty with what they think the actual retail price is versus what they are giving you. But I admit I enjoy Amazon for the convince factor of shopping at home. O yeah one more thing is about those "door buster deals" well they are not made from the actual normal components that the same items of that product would have at normal retail price. Since they are "marked down" they are made with cheaper quality parts.

I never went shopping on black Friday because i've always worked in retail and had to deal with all that. Now that i'm in an office job i'm going to stay home and enjoy time off.

I went to Bass Pro Shop around 4am. The doors opened at 5am. I think around 300-400 people were already waiting in line when i got there. It took like 15mins to get in the store. I was one of the last 5 people to get a box of Winchester 22 L.R. 500 rounds (store had 300 boxes). It took like 2hrs to reach a cashier to checkout. I didn't just buy ammo, i bought other stuff too.

+1 Along with this and voting day...they should be national holidys where everything is shut down...Go enjoy your family and go vote.

Wow, a lot of people must be taking today off, absolutely no traffic on the way to work this A.M.

I love these 4 day weekends every year.
