Well, I called complaining  about the situation some of us are in, not getting the Backplate yet!  and how the promotion section is closed and we can't look up USPS status because of that. I figure the reason why we don't have'em yet, it's because they don't have any to give out even though we were approved and USPS says shipped out. So lets see, I was told over the phone EVGA will ship out Backplates this week and will update the status on the Closed Promotional Section in order to check our USPS status.

I can confirm that we are shipping the requested backplates as quickly as we can to assist our customers and we appreciate everyone's patience. If you did request a backplate then it will ship and if you did request a Step-up before the 9th of November then it will be included with the card when the Step-up ships. I want to also confirm that if you do see a USPS tracking number, but it says pending then this should update by Wednesday evening for you.

My backplate request was approved on the 5th November and was due to ship approx. mid December.
Heard nothing more and now the EU promotion page with my order status details just says promotion has closed.
What's going on?

I clearly clicked the US link when checking for an update. Just did the same thing again (on the EU link) and got the "Your request is awaiting approval. Please allow 1 - 5 business days to process." message. Which is what I expected :) Cool, my bad. Cheers

Awww, he's all hyped up thinking he's going to get it right away.....Go look at your Tracking # on USPS. -Most of us have that message 2-3 weeks ago and still waiting for package and with no USPS update status to verify! -Plus since EVGA has NO > 970 GTX Backplate Part Number: 100-BP-0972-B9 < in Stock for the past 2 weeks, as I said we could be looking for a longer, longer wait.

Finally just received an update from USPS! The message says: Arrived at USPS Origin Facility ANAHEIM, CA 92899 on November 25, 2014
So yeah EVGA just got a bundle and started to send them out. I guess we add another week or 2 because of the Holiday....I'm close saying about a month.

Ok, just got back from the post office with my backplate. I didn't receive it by mail... it was available since Nov 18 in the post office but they took a whole week to send me the arrival notice by mail... could have just phoned me. Sorry, no picture as I don't have a camera right now. I'm in Brazil, by the way. :)

Crap promotion. Still haven't received any of my 4 backplates.
Still showing: Your request was approved. The free backplate will ship to you approximately mid-November.
November only lasts 5 days, of which (in Europe) are 3 or 4 working days.
I knew it beforehand that EVGA couldn't keep their fake promises.
First they remove the backplate offer, after I posted a screenshot from Google cache they put the "promotion" back in, but at a very, very long delay.
Now they cannot even keep their promise that it will ship mid-november. Total BS.
Oh well, this will be last products I ever bought from EVGA. Tired of their incompetence. They already lost me as a client for my motherboard needs with the bad and lack of support with the X58 chipset and now they lost me as a customer with videocards. Two thumbs down for EVGA.
Very disappointed with EVGA...
