Anyone can identify if there is any difference between these two RAM, or any recommendations on which would be better:
Corsair (2666):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233698

GSkill (2800):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231800

Thanks in advance!

G.Skill is better. Why? More bandwidth.

is there an OC difference between these two? would one overclock better than the other. I know this is a very general question, but is Corsair Vengeance  known for better OC?

I have always used Corsair...excellent brand.  On the new rig, I find GSkill DDR4 is very solid, indeed!  No complaints with either...GSkill really squeezes the performance out of their memory...

I think that now the vendors bin the chips and modules. There are no physical hardware differences for a 2400MHz module compared to a 2800MHz module. Therefore there is less overclock potential because they take the better performing devices and sell them at a premium. There is still some overclock headroom, but not much.

So I put my computer together, and having issues with the Mobo not being able to operate under PC 2800 settings. If I reset it back to 2133MHz, it would run fine and no issues, otherwise it will start freezing up. Not happy with X99 so far.

np, I did try changing the settings to 2800, but the system barely starts the BIOS and sometimes doesn't start at all. I increased the voltage to 1.25, didn't do a thing, I think I even bumped it to 1.27.
Not sure what else I can try.

Edit: I forgot to mention that whenever I set the freq to 2133, PC works fine.

    Here is system specs:

What kit did you get (link will help or part number)?

If you have set it to the exact timings and voltage settings on the package, try using the same settings with a lower frequency.

Are you changing to 125 bclk to get to 2800? If so, drop down to 100 bclk and try 2666 mhz, same settings. It may be the bclk not agreeing with the chip.

I'm at 100 bclk right now. System booted obviously. Do I need to stress test it now? memory is still at 2133

To answer your question, it's set to auto, and it defaults to 124.7 brings me to 2802 I think.

Give it a try at bclk 100, 2666 mhz, 15-15-15-35 all manual setting, voltage at 1.25 and see if it boots.

I tried a game, it freezes for a 1 ms or so then go smooth, happens every now and then. I don't get that same lag with 2133.
