Hi guys, i open support ticket some days ago about this:
"I think my GTX 570 died last night after 3 years of use. It had been months that the card was heating up too.
Average of 90 at 97 degrees in gaming.
So last night, when viewing a HD video, the image distorted and the PC crashed with blue screen.
After reset, the driver started braking with constant error messages.
So after trying some games that always crash with graphical anomalies, the screen image will not show up anymore.
But after formatting the PC, the card show the screen image, but I can't install the drivers. After install the screen image is gone and the PC crash and reset. Only works with native Windows driver and 800x600 resolution.
And always do periodic maintenance, making cleaning dust and changing the thermal grease (with EVGA Frostbite).
So what can be done? The VGA really died?"
So, the answer from EVGA:
"Hello,
That does sound like the card was overheating and has failed. Unfortunately, the card is a -TR warranty code, which is a 2 year warranty. As the card was bought on 4/14/11, the warranty expired on 4/14/13, putting it more than 1 1/2 years out of warranty so we cannot offer a replacement for the video card. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Regards,
EVGA"
So, you guys have any idea? This the second time it happens to me. First i buy a GTX 460 (01G-P3-1365-TR) it had a manufacturing defect which causes overheating.
Luckily was under warranty and changed to GTX 570 (012-P3-1570-TR). So, after almost 4 years, this is my current problem.
I now consider to switch brands. Maybe Asus, Gigabyte or MSI.
Thanks for any help.
