How can you move the onscreen display to another corner?

If you have OSD on, and you find the system tray icon for the EVGA Precision X Server, and you open it, you'll see that there are now options for OSD X (X location is horizontal positioning) and OSD Y (Y location is vertical positioning). I haven't played with it, but I assume editing those values (which appear to globally apply to the OSD position for all apps)... is how it is done.

Jacob

why does precision 5.2.4 greatly enlarges the resolution of a BF4 server screen. It's so large, it's unplayable. When I shut down precision
, the screen returns  to normal .

EVGA_JacobF / eVGA:

Can you please fix the following 5.2.4 issues, which have not yet been fixed?

1) The F5 key erroneously saves a screenshot to the Precision X 16 screenshot folder, even if the user does not have a "SCREEN CAPTURE HOTKEY" set or has cleared it. It also causes a severe stutter, when writing that huge (8MB @ 1080p) .bmp file. My game uses F5, and your software is interfering by not respecting my setting of "no hotkey".

2) When I set "FONT SIZE KEYBOARD LCD" to "Small Font", it erroneously still uses the medium font on my Logitech G15 v2 keyboard. In fact, there is no way for me to fit all the vitals of my 3 GPUs on my keyboard's display, until you fix this problem. :(

3) The "TEMPERATURE HYSTERESIS" setting is not working. I have it set to 3*C, but I can clearly see the fan % fluctuating up and down each second, when the temperature of the GPU increases or decreases by 1*C, on my 3rd GPU.

If you need any additional info, please don't hesitate to ask. I want PrecisionX 16 to succeed, but I feel you could respond better to the people posting problems. I hope it gets better.

Thanks,
Jacob Klein

Yup, Add me to  the list of FRUSTERATED USERS in regards to the Logitech OSD & THE FONT BEING TOO DAMN BIG! This has been this way since the VERY FIRST iteration of X16 & EVERY TIME there is an 'Update' I get my hopes up, and every time I have been disappointed.  I REALLY want to like and use this software, as I have been (exclusively) an EVGA customer in regards to MOBO's, GPU's and thusly your various companion software, for the last decade +. I have used EVGA PX Since the beginning and have always felt they had the edge over MSI AB (Mostly Due to the GUI as functionality at that point was very similar, thanks to 'Unwinder' and also the old adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it!')

But now, I can't even comment on what else may be wrong because as soon as I update EPX and the Font Size is still too large on my LOG G510 - I uninstall it (with a little tear of fond rememberance of what used to be...)

I tell you what, the newest version of MSI AB supports the use of ALL the older EVGA skins NATIVELY .. THE ONLY ONE that doesn't work is --- Guess which one? 'Ding.Ding to the gentleman in the back with a frusterated look and his GPU's a'smokin cause EVGA's nonsense has more bugs than a whale carcass in the African Jungle! Oh yeah! my point! Sorry, got carried away!
- Yup the skin from X16 does not work ... BUT the skin from X15 DOES!

And all the previous versions you can find, I have about 25 different skins .. check it out!

Seriously though, EVGA get your **** together, I REALLY like the new interface and menu system, but even with a specialized team on the job we can't get this paltry piece of software to the level of functionality that it USED to be without even trying? Let this be a lesson to all..
Don't BURN ESSENTIAL BRIDGES THAT CONNECT people to the very source of your livelihood, in this case a 'Business '2' Consumer/EndUser' bridge.
This also includes using items/ideas (that were never yours to begin with) in your product without permission/consent from the owner/creator etc.. as this only makes the bridge burn hotter and faster.

EVGA - We love you, but love is fleeting and the money I have set aside for a pair of 980's might well be in the hands of another vender come the holidays..

Can we see some images of BF4 with OSD on? before I go downloading this...I'm still running the old 4.2.1, can you still use old custom skin over this new PrecisionX16?

Exile, there is an active thread about the skins for x16 floating around. You may be able to find out more in there. I would stick with 4.2.1 for now, if I were you. It still works very well, and there are still a few links with 5.2.4

Here is the thread:
http://forums.evga.com/m/..aspx?m=1562250&p=56

Currently, drerex is working on the skins, so a little more time is needed. It looks very nice though.

the new EVGA still does not work with FPS, only show 1 FPS in G15 LCD. on every game.
latest NVIDIA drivers.
EVGAGTX9804gbSC and Shadow play still crashes to blue screen with this card.
 same issue
" Frame rate Target Control setting still is not saved, after every reboot or on/off of precision X I have to readjust it. "

the font does not shrink to small either. even after a couple of reboots it stay at medium in the LCD G15 keyboard OSD does not work with IL2 Stalingrad, and red orchestra 2.

update it looks like EVGA OSD is having an issue with Steams overlay... both will not work when one or the other is running.

Re: EVGA PrecisionX 5.2.4 Released 2014/10/28 22:02:29 (permalink)
Is there a way to enable and disable K-Boost without having to open Precision?
If not, I suggest EVGA makes it so when you save a profile with K-Boost enabled, it sticks.
That way I can create two identical profiles, one with K-Boost enabled, one with K-Boost disabled, and with the use of hotkeys I can switch between them as I please.
Essentially allowing me to quickly enable and disable K-Boost and the touch of a few buttons.

It gets annoying having to open the program before and after every time I play a game to enable and disable it.
I don't want maximum voltage running through my card when it is idle which is why I prefer disabling it when I am not gaming, you could simplify the process of doing so.
As far as I'm concerned K-Boost is the best thing Precision has to offer over other overclocking utilities at the moment, to be honest it's the only reason I have it.
It would make sense to focus on Precisions strengths, perhaps make K-Boost lower the voltage while idle, yet keep the core and memory clock locked at their limits, at least give the option.

Thanks if anyone working at EVGA considers this suggestion.

They seem to be trying to get the kinks all kneaded out.  Give it time, and I am sure it will be to where everyone enjoys it :-)

I want to report some bugs

First Bug when PrecisionX is open Windows Media Player and PowerDVD 14 seems to half crash or something like that with videos (Start, Stop, Rewind,....etc) it's kind of not responding when i close PrecisionX 5.2.4 everything is back to normal

Second Bug i've the logitech G19 and i always monitor my GPU TEMP through the LCD screen from the option monitor in PrecisionX i really like that and everything is ok but when i check startup the program starts without the monitoring app in my LCD i have to restart PrecisionX to make it work in older version if i remember correctly 14 this bug never existed

It's just that, keyboard and mouse lag, with it being especially bad on the keyboard. The problem seemed to be limited to BF3 and BF4. I would press a button and there would be a sometimes full second before my character moved, and that movement would never correspond to the how long I pressed the button. (Sorry, I almost confused myself on that last one) There was also a slight delay in the movement of the mouse as I was aiming, which I didn't realize until I fixed the issue. I figured the problem was Precision X when I was messing with the Microsoft Keyboard app, which was glitchy and buggy, while Precision X was running, and I noticed it said "Precision X" on the keyboard app's main title bar. I reverted to Precison X 4.2.1 and my problems disappeared.

What is this "Microsoft Keyboard app" you mention? Can you provide a screenshot? Does it have a version number? Is it up-to-date?
The only "lag" problem I've noticed with PrecisionX 16 5.2.4, is that pressing F5 erroneously saves a 16MB screenshot that causes my game to lock up for ~700ms, even though I've told PrecisionX not to assign a screenshot hotkey.
I'd encourage you to upgrade back to PrecisionX 16 5.2.4, and then see if maybe some other application is responsible for your input lag -- perhaps PrecisionX isn't at fault here.

Also, I usually use "Max prerendered frames: 1" in the NVIDIA Control Panel, to eliminate input lag (in my iRacing game), and "Adaptive VSync" to minimize tearing. Have you tried that combination?

It's called the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center and I use it because I have a Microsoft keyboard. The problem wasn't with that app, it was just the way I figured out the problem. I will try 5.2.4 when I can and will try your fixes. I'll get back to you.

EDIT: I take it back, I'll be sticking with 4.2.1 until there's a reported fix or version 6.x comes out.

Re: EVGA PrecisionX 5.2.4 Released 2014/11/07 13:27:09 (permalink)
Tried various versions of PrecisionX 16 and they are either unstable or simply the fonts are awful. Version 5.2.4 service fails on startup so I'm sticking to 4.2.1 for now it behaves so much better with far less CPU usage. I can actually see the (temperature) font and set the colors on the tray for all 4 GPUs. (Note: using an auxiliary monitor and 3 x surround monitors).

The behavior I noticed matches with what you are saying, that it's an unstable OSD, especially on surround. I'm retracting what I said before and sticking with 4.2.1.

Re: EVGA PrecisionX 5.2.4 Released 2014/11/08 03:42:40 (permalink)
Well sadly this update broke my BF3 and BF4 installs.
The issue with BF4  is that when the game loads it is like it is zoomed in so i can only see approx 2/3's of the actual screen area so there fore I am unable to select any options that are off the screen. In fact although the game loads it won't let me do anything at all and I end up having to use task manager to kill it off but it is not frozen or crashed.

I am running in Surround 3x 1920 x 1080 so 5760 x 1080. The game has been running perfectly up until about a week ago. There have been no hardware changes at all just the Nvidia driver update, now on 344.60. However as part of trouble shooting I have disconnected the 2 additional screens and the problem is still present even on a single monitor. Occasionally it will work on a single monitor as a standard game for a few rounds, then i try again later and the issue is back again.

The BF3 Issue is that the games loads, then as it switches into the game screen it crashes with a direct x error starting with "directx function "renderer->m_swapchain" and goes on for ages with a long string of stuff. Then once okis pressed on the error then the game closes down.

I have done a clean install of both BF4 and the Nvidia drivers, all settings, config files have been removed and re installed.
Surround works fine on any other supported game, (Assassins creed and Elite Dangerous are 2 I have tried)

Hardware is
Mobo Asus P8 Z68 Delux Gen 3
16Gb Corsair Dominator DDR3 Vengence Ram at stock settings.
EVGA GTX 780 Classified
Intel i7 2700k @ 4.5 Ghz and stable for over a year, Temps are nominal as it is water cooled.
Samsung SSD EVO 840 500Gb.

All other games work fine it is only BF4 & BF3 that has the issues.

So I did some investigating and it seems the root cause is the EVGA Precision X on screen display server as when this is closed, both the games run perfectly. It is only BF3 & BF4 that are affected as far as i can tell.
Just wanted to make people aware as it was highly frustrating.

With the exception of the DirectX error that's exactly what happened to me! Will a moderator please address this issue? Games are unplayable with Precision X 16. Revert to 4.2.1 and you should be fine, it worked for me. It's crazy how it's only Battlefield that this affects...

OK, seems when I try to run the Windows Experience Index test in Windows 7, I get an error that it's unable to perform video tests when running the d3d9 test.

I believe if they fix the compatibility with that then it should solve others as well.

Also this new version still has the toggle shortcut of the OSD working once and nothing after that and freezes youtube videos sometimes in full screen mode.

Reverting to 4.2.1 again till next update :/.

Crickets. It's very quiet. Nothing but unanswered questions, lately. A true test of patience.

Going into 2015  and all I see is nothing but issues  with the later version of EVGA Precision X

I love using EVGA Precision X v4.2.1 , but unfortunate I'm stuck with the old version that cant display OSD on BF4.....I refused to go with MSI Afterburner
