Will he be able to take advantage of the 10 year warranty? The warranty was the main reason I choose the EVGA PSU.

I haven't registered it yet (of course) since I want the warranty to be under his name, duh!. But I was reading about EVGA warranty and saw that it only applied to the original buyer/owner and that got me thinking.

I'm in Sweden and bought it from a store called Netonnet if it's any help. And yep, on the receipt you will find my name.

Best way is if your friend register PSU in first 30 days.
I'm not sure but even if you register on your name warranty is still valid and he can RMA.
I suggest you to give him to register, he will use, warranty is on his name, that's best way.

Guess I can't. From the warranty section it states this:

The following warranty lengths are provided to the Original Purchaser for EVGA products purchased on or after July 1, 2011 from an with a valid proof of purchase. For EVGA products not purchased from an or for owners that do not have a valid proof of purchase than the warranty is available for up to 3 years, which will not exceed the warranty length assigned to the part number, and the warranty will start from the EVGA shipping date. For more details on the EVGA transferable warranty then please see the Transferable Warranty section below.

Oh well! I guess I just keep this one for myself then! I'm having a plan of building a PCI-E extender box later on to put some additional GFX cards in for my work (GPU rendering). I guess I could use the Supernova for that purpose. Regarding the gift for my friend, I'll have to come up with something else instead.

Maybe, you are right, you can give him PSU and that he will build account and register PSU on his name.
Or you can keep for self if you have plan for something.
I thought on people who usually sell graphic cards and warranty are still valid and after they sold, but I forgot on graphic cards is 3 years any way.
Did you saw EVGA sleeve set black, red, white and blue?

just give him the PSU and let him register the PSU on his account.
it doesn't matter that your name is on the invoice, he still gets the warranty as it is bound to the product.
