I received my Magnum TH10A from CaseLabs today and wanted to wait to build it, but I have no patience at all, and wanted to see this thing in one piece.  So... Fire in the Hole.

I am taking pictures as I build, hence the build log.  I will update as often as I can.  I am currently waiting on the x99 Classified, fittings, tubing, and pumps.  I will be using 2 pumps per loop, and 2 loops.

List of components to be used:
Magnum TH10A w/ XXL Window
x99 Classified with 5960x
32gb 2400mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum
2x 980Ti Classified with 780ti Classified Hydrocoppers
1x 970 FTW ACX 2gb (for folding)
2 - Samsung 840 Pro
Seagate 7200rpm 3tb
Seagate 7200rpm 2tb
2 - D5 Pumps
2 - 250mm EK Reservoirs w/ Multi Port Tops
4 - XSPC EX480 Radiators
1 - XSPC RX360 Radiator
24 - Corsair SP120 PWM Performance Edition
2 - EVGA 1300 G2's
Auqacomputer Aquaero 6xt w/ 4 - 8 way Swiftech PWM fan controllers.
Multimedia Card reader (I will game, but I need a way to transfer photo and videos, so I will have peripherals)
Maximum Ordinance Custom Sleeved Cables.

I also currently live in a dorm with very little space, I apologize for the mess in the background. I will be moving in February, so I will be tearing down what I have accomplished and rebuild at that time.  There will be many delays while I build this, but I want to take my time and get it right the first time.

Current RIG:

NEWEST Update, Changed the routing of the tubing to put the GPU's in their own loop, and removed the colors.  Also switched over to trident Z ram as well.

Also switched over to two 1080ti's that run at 2062mhz daily.  CPU is running at 4.625ghz, 1.33v. RAM is running at 3000mhz, 12-12-12-30-2t 1.35v.  These things are awesome.

Noticed the two bent door brackets :-\..  Grabbed my multi tool and fixed it.

I am using my phone right now.  I do not have a way to transfer pictures from my camera at this time, so once I get that fixed, I will ditch the phone and use the camera.

Installed the Card Reader and the Aquearo, as well as the 360 and the exhaust fan.  Found an issue that not all of the fans I bought are PWM.. not a big issue, but I am going to replace the ones that I picked up with the PWM series, so I will be looking into those now.

Also, this is a good reference to how big the TH10A is compared to the Phantom 630 that I am going to move everything out of.

I see your "slowest build log ever" and raise you my build log. I started working on the case in December of 2012 lol. Wow, almost 2 years ago. Hopefully yours doesn't take that long. But it is looking good so far.Very nice case. I'd love to play with a Case Labs case one of these days.

And in other news you should pass me on the team 111065 Folding points leader board in by the end of the weekend. Congrats on that.

Oh wow, look at that.. I folded all month for Bjorn3D, and had accidentally started a few days early, so I pulled back over to EVGA so that the points would even out.  I am hoping I will be able to leave the cards constantly folding when I move to Delaware.  in 40 days, I folding 16m points for Bjorn... and Now I am back on EVGA for the month at least.  I think I will go back and forth on both teams to help out.

I think I can get you by the end of the day, if it updates o.O

I pulled the Slowest Build Log down, and will leave the obnoxious TH10A spelling as is, until I figure out what to name this one. :-)

OK, another small update. I know there aren't many people looking, but for those that may stop by, I appreciate it.

I received 10 of the 16 pwm fans that I need for all of the radiators so far. I have started installing them, and this is where we are so far.

I have not ordered any of the necessary fittings or tubing. I am moving in February, so I am going to get everything fitted and all of the hardware tested out. Since I am utilizing the 780Ti's from my current build, I don't need to do much else with them.

The current motherboard being utilized to test the 5960x, ram and PSU is slightly borked, and one of the RAM slots is bad, so I am going to RMA. Being as this is a major issue, and the company is failing to acknowledge all of the major hardware and bios issues, I am changing manufacturers for the motherboard. I am going to go with the one that has the best reviews and that I can use PlastiDip to hide the incorrect colors.

I am attempting to speak with a company about using their colors and name, and maybe if they wish to sponsor with a little bit of gear (not even closely related to Computers, but geared toward veterans and helping veterans). If the company agrees to allow me to use their name, I will be naming the build after them and hopefully be able to get some permissions to have plexi Logo's created for the build.

Anyway, on to more work and placement things.

    Any Questions?

It was an Astounding $45.00 flat packed USPS to me.  Being as I live in South Korea, I am lucky that USPS is here.  This case is Absolutely incredible.

I did have another Error that I didn't account for.  The EX360 is 56mm thick, and sits nearly against the 480 on the top.  The ports wont clear because of the 480mm and the top of the case.  Thankfully , the RX360 that I cancelled using is only 32mm thick and is Crossflow, so I will be able to do the inlet tube at the top port and outlet at the bottom port.

This is the error spot (it is outside of the mounts, so it sits a lot closer.  It doesn't normally touch.

Man thats cheap !!! They ask 180$ to ship me the STH10 . That case is a beast.

WOW its so closely fitted. But its good that you have a RX360 .
    I bought x2 Black ice gtx 360 and a 140mm rad.
Due to the issue of shipping I'm also thinking of getting a Enthoo Primo and it has the space to fit all my rads.

Where do you live? Mine is only cheaper because although I live in a foreign country, it is considered us soil... I haven't even glanced at the price... It may have been more. I will find it and either resend it or take a picture if I was wrong.

haha , thanks for taking your time .
I have a win 7 home code hanging with me so I'l just send it as a small sponsor (not actually a sponsor its a gift) , I know you wont be using it but will be useful to you at a different time though.

:-D  Thank you.  I will actually be putting it to use for a friend that has to set his computer up.  Waiting for him to come back into town so that I can build everything for him.

It is considered local shipping, so it makes everything completely different.  I just looked it up, and it was $43 for the USPS Priority, which was the cheapest version I could get that wouldn't take 8 weeks to ship.

I did have to bump my voltage up on my CPU a little bit for RealBench 2.41 to complete its processing.. it was only 10mv total, so not much, but the CPU seems to be stable on the Core clock now, and I am going to see if I can work on the Ring and overclocking it a little.  I will say, using the 750Ti does not do it justice for the ability of the CPU and pushing it for rendering purposes, lol.

Waiting to see more from your build

I need to order the fittings and a new motherboard, and then I can start fitting everything. I am going to set the PSU soon, to measure out the wire sets so that I can get the custom sleeving and length done.

Going Purple, Silver and Black. Hopefully the foundation I am talking to gets back to me soon.

Crisis averted with the Front radiator.  This is a split flow radiator that I purchased from another forum member, and have now added it to the case.  I will keep the EX360 for a test bench style setup.  Next, I will be installing the PSU and routing the cables, as best I can, to get the lengths for the custom cables all sorted out.

So, I decided on a Name and Theme. Since I am Military and I like organizations that like supporting Military families in need, and I planned on a Purple and Black theme, I decided that a little bit of silver could set off fairly well to adopt the Infinite Hero theme. I will be speaking with them about utilizing their name in the build and small logos that aren't overbearing. I can not post images from Mobile, but InfiniteHero.org will get the idea across.

I have started to save to get a CL TH10 , YAY .
I have 300$ in paypal , once I get the dark sold I will end up something around 500$ , then next three hundred would take few days or a week then voila I can order the case .
    Nice name on your build!!
How long did they take to ship the case after the order was placed ? I'm planning on ordering one from frozencpu .
Shipping comes around 179$ due to this being weight up to 41lbs with box.

Have a little question: when ordering which side did you select to have the window , because I have no idea on which is right and left , I want the XXL window on the side of the mobo .
I want the case in standard way NOT reversed) .
    Thanks mate
    Waiting to see more!!!

Re: [Build Log] Mag-numb Tee Aye-ch Tin Alpha 2014/11/13 05:30:51 (permalink)
Just order the XXL window, and the sides can be swapped to your liking. You would just remove the hinges from the doors, and reattach them to the door you want to use. To answer your question, when you see setting up the order, it will specify which side. I am going to order the second XXL window for the back side once I get the gorgeous wires ran. I will be taking my precious time with that, as I want them to be very very clean for viewing pleasure... I mean, I have 140-150mm of space to work with, but I want them to be very very clean, and the window to show them off.

Currently, there is a ventilated side panel, which I am not as much of a fan of as I thought I would be. I was hoping it would help the PSU breathe, but there would be absolutely no restriction with the massive amount of room there already is.

I waited approximately 20 days after the order was placed to get a shipping notification. The price of shipping is steep, and costed me much less since I live on US soil, technically, so I was happy for that.

I am super impressed with the case itself. I am not a huge fan of the paint on mine, as simply tightening screws has stripped a few small pieces, but I can easily repair if necessary.

Sounds good . I was thinking it should be ordered separately lol .
Damn 20 days , man it would have been a pain to wait that long . Yea you got be so lucky to get it shipped for 40$ ,not me.
Yea for other colors they charge 90$ , I think its too much . But for a powder coat they ask more than 200$ , I dont think its really worth for me spending that much for paint.
A small brush works on all times if you get anything damaged.
I dont know if frozencpu will ask me to wait for 20 days , I was thinking they needed that time frame only for sth10 .
I will send a email to frozen and see the order time frame.
    Thanks for your support mate

Frozen will probably order directly from CL honestly. They sell every single one of the main part separately.. CL is awesome with that. Want a new door? Order it. Want a new motherboard try, just the main board part, order it. Want the PCI slot bracket of the motherboard assembly, you can get that on its own as well.

As far as powder coat, order it in the black or primer (the cheap version) and then have it powder coated once it arrives. Powder coating isn't all that expensive that I have seen, and price has only gone down slowly with time. It is totally worth it though.

Didn't know that before , thanks for the info.
But I saw on Frozen site: it says it will be shipped on same day , lol they must have missed to add the info about its real order processing time period. I sent them a email on turn  around time .
Yea case labs are awesome , they have whatever you need for this case . But they dont want to ship using usps , they use fedex for international so shipping jumps up to 265$ , its the reason I'm thinking of getting it from frozen .

Yea I have planned to order the basic black color , when I get it il get it powder coated with the help of a painter in my town , im not into painting stuff lol . If I paint something it ends up finishing worse than before. So this time I have to ask someone else to do it .

    Thanks for your support!!
    Waiting for pictures

Nice looking case. I might have to look at those for my upcoming build.

So, yesterday I came home to find the 3930k in Older Brother completely dead.  It wouldn't recognize the CPU at all.  I had already set up an RMA, as it had been shutting off a lot, so I just needed the address.. I go to the post office today, and had a package.. hmm.. I didn't order anything until late last week, so it can't be anything really good... but alas, APOBox and Amazon astonish me...  Testing the Rampage V extreme so that I can temporarily build everything with flexible tubing, until I can get the monsoon tubing figure out and added into the mix.  Everything will be replaced, except for maybe the EK GPU connectors that I will utilize (I already have them, so it will be hard to give them up for something else.

I only have one TI installed for now, but I swapped all of the Acetal parts out for plexi, and the new build is starting to come together. For now, I have to test everything, until I can get the other two Ti's installed.

The temporary set up until I can get the tubing sorted and everything in the case. definitely going to run dual pumps, as I can see that the fluids aren't being properly moved with the single pump.  But, this will do for the time being.

Sorry to hear about your 3930k. But good deal you got the Rampage. Cant wait to see you maing some progress. I finally got my replacement FTW after the first was DOA. Still only 1 GPU in it, but i did play with the CPU a little. Got my 5930K running easily at 4.5GHz at 1.350 volts. But thats as far as I've gotten so far 2 hours stable on prime. Need to get some other tests to double check stability.

I can't wait to start seeing you get all built up.  Glad the new board is working for you.  I haven't even pushed this CPU on this board just yet.  I will give it a shove once I can split the loop in two.

This case looks dope. I'm going to google it now and add it to my wish list. I will just need to find the energy to undo my current system.
