I've switching between the 980SC and TitanBlacks. Using the same drivers I'm seeing a weakness with the 980SC in dealing with fog/smoke that doesn't appear with the T.B.'s. Anyone know of a fix for this or is on nVidia's plate to deal with?

Dumb question perhaps, but did you remove and reinstall the drivers after swapping cards? If not you should probably do that first and foremost.

At the very least you should do a cmos reset between card changes, reboot your rig to defaults for the bios and then resetup the bios. If you do that you may not have to reinstall graphics card drivers. If you do reinstall gcard drivers make sure you don't have precision or afterburner running in background services and make sure you temp shutdown your antimalware/antivirus till the installs done and you reboot. Make sure you check the clean install option in the gcard driver install and only install the gcard driver, PhysX driver and hd audio driver and that's it for the least problems.

I should test my 780 ti vs the gtx 980 i have. I swear the 780 Ti was faster in company of heroes 2 (a game with heavy use of particles for the explosions) than the 980. Now i want to test this.

I use DDU, then fresh install graphics and physx drivers for each card change. The fog thing is a known problem in some games, I was hoping someone knew of a fix or work around for it. I wouldn't be surprised if it were related to VXGI as light and shadows seem a little odd on rare occasions.
