Anyone updated to the BIOS 2.13 for the EVGA DARK?
I am having an issue currently where if I reboot my pc it does not want to boot again, I have to power it down completely and then discharge all power from board and then boot again.
I only have this board a few days now but any help will be appreciated. Currently im on BIOS 2.12.

Look above in this post for one issue I did find.

Aah ok, soz my bad :)
I installed the 2.13 BIOS and all seems to be working good now.
USB2 are also working 100% even with my H100i Link which is normally a nightmare to install but all is good so far.

Just saw this, and went ahead and updated.
Woohoo, finally I have a working mouse in my bios, even at my overclock settings.
Thanks EVGA!

Also noticed it wiped out my saved profiles, hope I remembered all my settings correctly lol.
I can't seem to remember, what setting is it that I can disable the X79 bios splash screen when posting?

Edit: Got it, it was the silent mode setting.

Each time you update your Bios it will wipe out your Bios Profiles.

Aha, well that is fine I had saved pics of my bios settings so had them to refer to as well, looks like I remembered all the settings for the most part.

Thanks,

One possible oddity... I'm running Win 8 with the CSM off (native UEFI boot). Anyone else running like that? If the code for the lights is wedged into the compatibility layer instead of the UEFI part of the firmware, that'd explain it.

I just updated to 2.13 this morning on my Dark, and now I have the flashing green light - did not have this on previous bios versions.
I too am running Windows 8.1  UEFI ( CSM disabled).

Unfortunately, enabling the "internal PLL overvoltage" does not correct the random PCI-E flashing green as Tech suggested. Appears completely random. The only way I have found to ensure the complete cycle to red and amber is to turn off the power supply, cycle the case power button, turn on the power supply and restart. Each time a cold start up is performed the lights cycle properly.

I think you have a problem with your image there.

Reckon there is any harm in just leaving this flashing green like this?

Did you reset the Bios to the Default by using that little Red Button on the MB or Rear before you updated the Bios?
And make sure you turn OFF your computer after the update the Bios.

I reset to load defaults within the bios, they loaded and I booted up into windows with defaults, then flashed the bios from within windows.
At the end of the flash, the system powered off. I then powered it on, went into the bios and made sure all was well there, then restored my settings.

I also have the blinking PCI-e indicator lights. I have had it ever since I updated to BIOS 2.12. I have not tried 2.13 yet. Did not have this issue under 2.10. I have tried the fixes in this thread, and no dice.

Now I am not sure I should update my X79 Classified Motherboards.
Has any one update their X79 Classified Motherboards with this new 2.07 Bios?

I had powered down my system for a while today as we had left to do some things, just powered it back up and now my PCIe indicator light is solid red as it should be.
Strange, will keep a check on it and see if it starts flashing green again at some point.

Might be that the power after Bios update is not long enough.
Do you have any Yellow in under Device Manger?

It is gone now, when you first posted there was a tone of characters stretching way across and down, between some /img tags. Not sure what the deal was there, shortly afterwards it disappeared. May have been a forum glitch or something...

Re: X79 BIOS updates 2014/11/02 05:38:02 (permalink)
Well so far after having my system powered down yesterday and then powering back up upon returning home, my PCIe led is still solid red, powered down for the night and back up this morning, still red as it should be.

Not quite sure why it was initially flashing green yesterday, what that meant, or why it went away - but it did...

Edit: I will say I am very pleased with this update, 2.10 was the last bios I was running , and now finally through all these bios updates I have a usable mouse in the bios GUI with 2.13. System seems just as rock stable as it has always been, heck I might even try lowering my offset a little for my overclock.

Btw, anyone else notice that the Marvell Sata Raid option in the bios appears to have gone away? Maybe it did with one of the more previous updates that I did not get as well, or maybe I am just missing it. I never used it and always disabled it, when I was looking for it to disable after this update I did not see it. I generally disable all the Marvell stuff.

Pretty sure they removed the disable option from the BIOS due to the fact that disabling the ports also caused the USB 3.0 ports to be disabled.

Wait.. you mean you are forced to sit through that annoying Marvell initializing screen now? Even if you don't want to use it? Hell, if that's true, I'm not touching this bios. Someone please clarify this...

Thats just my guess. I have silent boot and CSM turned off so I dont see the marvell initialization screen (with that being said, I'm using the ports in a RAID array anyhow, so I kinda want it on).

Im having another issue with this BIOS. When I enabled the Internal PLL Override option, my system will boot straight to BIOS on a cold start and a restart. Whats up with that? Also, PCI-e Indicators are still flashing green.

That's a good theroy as it caused lots of confusion,  especially early on until it became more common knowledge.  Even though, if this is accurate, I personally don't care for not having the option to disable it.
