Hello

The last couple times I bootet my PC (hardware listed in signature), it wouldnt boot on the first try anymore. 2-3 attempts later it bootet and ran without a problem.
The next time I wanted to boot, and it would not boot until I cleared my cmos, but then, once again, it ran just fine.
Now it doesn't boot at all anymore.

I have rearranged my ram sticks and tried to boot with only one stick installed (tried all 4 of them). And I don't think I trashed 4 memorysticks at once...
I have checked all cables, and they all seem to be hooked up correctly.
I have replaced the cmos battery, because it read lowish.

No successful boot so far.

When i push the power button, it will try to boot for roughly 1 second, and will turn back off instantly. It doesn't run long enough for the little display on the motherboard to turn on - so, no errorcode.
All these colorful indicator lights light up, just as they always did.
And that cycles every 5-6 seconds, until I flip the Switch on the PSU.

Has anyone got an idea what could cause this?

Could it be some kind of safety shutdown from the motherboard?
I have never seen a dead CPU in my life, neither in my own systems, nor while working.
And the PSU ist a be quiet dark power. Usually quite reliable stuff.

I'd be really thankful for help.

_NaZ, you may want to try another power supply if you have access to one and see if that changes the behavior you're getting from the system.  If your CPU had gone bad I would still expect a FF code from the LED, blank would lead me to believe power or motherboard.

Just make sure you only uses the bare minimum components at this point too.  Keyboard, 8 and 24 pin, cpu and heatsink.  If there were any changes in parts or case switches, try it outside of the case on a non conductive surface.

    thanks for you help.

I've taken the motherboard out, and tried it outside of the case, with only PSU, CPU, hooked up. Since I had to take the waterblock of the CPU anyway, to get it out of the case, I have reseated the CPU.
Afterwards I tried to boot severell times, and it wouldn't .But like after 4-5 cycles on my last try, ist suddenly postet b8.
Then added RAM and got 2E
Added spare GPU and it booted.

I have checked the inside of my case, if there maybe were some metal bits and pieces that shortcutted something, but i could find anything. (plus, my last casemod is 4-5 years old...)
Also I checked the Waterloop, and couldn't find any leaks.

I pretty much have reassembled my PC the way it was, and have rebooted it at least ten times, and coldbootet it severell times, no hiccups, no double boots. Seems to work fine again.
But I have no idea what now the actual problem was...

Now I am only left with a "classic problem". 3,99 GB of RAM. But I have dealt with that before.
