I'm assuming this monitor is Single Stream Transport since it is coming out in the present day. This is a detail that needs to be better pointed out considering the problems with Multi Stream Transport.

All in all, it looks really good, especially at that price point. True 4K, 30-bit color IPS, DP 1.2 connection, HDMI 2.0 would have been nice, but professionals are already going to use DP 1.2 anyway since HDMI 2.0 can't support 4K 60Hz 30-bit color without chroma subsampling or reducing one of the other values.

I just hope gamers can get a treat like this, but with G-Sync installed. That way they get high display quality from all angles (thinking Surround) and an artifact-free image. It has been a while though since we have seen any new true 4K monitors, and I'm pretty sure this is much, much cheaper than the other models available (none of which support DP 1.2).

I have one of these and it's nice but 17:9 support is pretty crummy for gaming unless you like a one black bar on either side of your screen in many games. You could always wait for flawless widescreen mod to be patched but that means no playing games at launch (have to wait for a free hack for 17:9) and no online gaming because widescreen mods will get you banned. So if you just play single player games and don't mind waiting a few weeks after launch to play games and run a background app to get 17:9 support, this is a nice monitor. Also most cutscenes and menus are fixed 16:9 in majority of games so even flawless widescreen mod won't fix the black bars there, but will in normal gameplay. Otherwise, wait for the Benq BL3201PT coming out on November 10, $999 (cheaper), and 32" (1.7 inches bigger, this monitor is really a 30.3" as it has 1/3 inch black border within the bezel that has no active pixels).

Eh, it's ok I guess. Anymore I prefer LG to Samsung.

Anyone else get this? I have it but i'm only getting 30hz. What is odd when there is no Nvidia drivers install it does to 60hz. I'm using quad gtx 980s. What is also strange is the 4096x2160 isn't an option, just the 3840x2160. I already have a ticket open with Nvidia.
I have a friend that also got this monitor and with a 970 got it working at 60hz and 4096 with SST.
    soo.. a few questions..
anyone else with this screen? using a 980?
also, what is the primary DP port on the 980?

more info, i have 2 other 32" 4k screens (the Sharp and the dell).. but they are both tiled MST screens - i wonder if my system is remembering that is it breaks something. (but unless i get someone to confirm it working with 980 and i'm not going to reinstall)
