    Not that I know of, GPUGRID is only for NVIDIA GPU's as far as I know.

    Well, sorry for that my friend. But you know, some has plenty of CPU Power, 2P and 4P's, and other has to rely on their GPU Power.
    Very few has both.
    Most Challenges are CPU based, this one is our first GPU Power only Challenge, atleast in my time.
    GPU head's are trying to keep up the paste in those CPU Challenges, and (we) participate at Our best abilities With what we got.
    So, this time, it would be most appr.. appreciat... crap... it would be cool if anyone With a GPU would attend.

    For these gpu projects I may just do a 50/50 split with folding/crunching. Fold until the 15th then crunch the rest of the month. Will give me some time to figure out how to set this up anyway. I'm off to play with manager.

    UPDATE: So I kinda got it right? Can't seem to get gpu use up to 100%

    Same Here 50% GPU and 50% CPU running SIMAP for upcoming POTM November 2014 - Last hurrah for SIMAP!
    Because I will run only Long Tasks I will have 1 Core Per GPU and only run One Task per GPU running and the rest for CPU Tasks.

    Also to note that GPU Challenges take a lot more Power then CPU Challenges, 4 to 5 the Times the Power.
    So nice that Winter is almost here.

    Looks like short run. All I did for setup was add it though the boinc menu. Then hit "my account" and joined team evga. It also looked like it was trying to run some cpu task, "Test app for CPU MD". Suspended it because of pogs.

    Yes you will need to create a Text File called app_config.xml you can use Notepad to create and edit it.

    Long runs can take a really long time to run (8-12) but less than 24 Hours but give the highest point return.

    This file by name is used in most BOINC Project Folder.

    I use <max_concurrent>3</max_concurrent> for Rigs that Have 3 GPU Cards installed.
    <max_concurrent>0</max_concurrent> uses all from what I can tell.
    On my GTX 690 Rig I use <max_concurrent>6</max_concurrent> for a total of 6 GPU 2 for each 690.

    If your running a older and/or slower GPU then I recommend you stick to short tasks. By older/slower I am referring to anything under a GTX 670 or a GTX 770.

    For long runs you need to finish them within 24 hours to get a bonus point reward. So if you have a 670, 680, 690, 770, 780, 780 Ti, Titan, 970, or a 980 then go for the long runs. Other cards might be able to make the 24 hour dead line but I know the ones listed will do so.

    I will be joining in with my 680 and 780 Ti. My CPU cores will be crunching away on SIMAP of course.

    This weekend I'll test one on a 660ti, since it 's right on or just below your Mendoza line.

    To Run Long Tasks Only :

    Location: C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.gpugrid.net

    File Name: app_config.xml

    <app_config>
       <app>
        <name>acemdlong</name>
        <max_concurrent>0</max_concurrent>
        <gpu_versions>
            <gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage>
            <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage>
        </gpu_versions>
      </app>
    </app_config>

    does that work for you? everytime I try to restrict a project like that ( with 0 max concurrent) it just completely ignores it.

    GPUGrid's website lets you pick which projects though. Wish I could get it to work, I would like to run specific tasks on certain GPU's..

    Is that a Short Run Task or Long Run?

    Looks like short run. All I did for setup was add it though the boinc menu. Then hit "my account" and joined team evga. It also looked like it was trying to run some cpu task, "Test app for CPU MD". Suspended it because of pogs.

    To be in control of what GpuGrid tasks to run, you will have to take a peak at your preferences in your GpuGrid account.
    When you have navigated to this, hit "GPUGRID preferences" outlined in red.

    Now you should se this:

    Under "Run only the selected applications" you are in control of what to run.
    This example show how to run long ones only.
    If you choose both long and short, you will be served a mix.
    You might try running both, but if the long ones goes like 20hrs or more, you might be better off running short ones.
    The challenge closes at a certain time, and it would not be ok to have one hour left on a long one, which you have grinded on for 19hrs.
    This selection can also be changed during the contest.
    You can do changes here, then hit the "Update" button in your BOINC Manager:

    The 660 Ti is the one that is right on the line. It all depends on the specific 660 Ti. Some do better than others. If your lucky and got one that is a tad faster than most then you should be OK.

    For comparison. screenie below is one 660Ti together with a 760. (Dunno which is which)
    As you can see, they both crunch relatively equal, and well within acceptable runtime.

    I'm in with my 780 Classy and 560ti.  As for bonus points, my 560ti lightly OC'ed does long runs in 23 hours and just scrapes by the deadline.

    Did anyone else catch the Metal Gear Solid reference by the group that issued the event?
