I've been noticing for a few months now that my video cards will suddenly go from no fan noise to full blast while playing video games. I checked nvidia inspector and it shows the cards at 100C temp with fans not set on AUTO speed. After checking the boxes for AUTO fan speed, the cards cool and return to normal usage temperatures.
For the longest time I couldnt figure out when it happens but it seems to happen when I wake my computer from sleep mode, immediately checking nvidia inspector, my fans are off AUTO fan speed and surely if I play any games, the cards will ramp up to 100C temps and go full blast with the fans until it reaches 99C, and back again when it reaches 100C.
Anyone have a clue what's going on? I should be doing a clean install soon since I have a couple of new OS drives to raid and a new processor to install, but i'll be damned if it does it with a clean install. I'll be sure to update if it still does it after.
