I thought I was on an old version. My boinc manager doesn't have those drop-downs. I'll see if Berkeley have it sorted in the morning, I can't get in to update atm

Here is how to update: http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2125796 to 7.2.42 (Current Version) at least for Ubuntu 12.xx LTS
This is AFTER you install it through Ubuntu Software Center. http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2127211

If you are running Ubuntu 14.xx LTS then the Ubuntu Software Center will install the current version 7.2.42.

The important thing is you are running the right project - fitsedwrapper is what you should be seeing.
In fact, if you run the command "ps -ef | grep fitsedwrapper | wc -l" it will tell you how many copies are running at the moment.

yep, at full capacity you should be running one per core/ thread.

Can you pst a screenshot of what your boinc manager looks like?
And did you switch it to advanced view?

edit: just had a look at your profile with pogs:
you currently have downloaded about 2 tasks per core.(~130 in total)
What does Ubuntus version of the task manger say aout core usage?

Shift ctrl A will show advanced which gives you the drop down menus in Linux.

Yep, their web appearance seems to be down. You can´t even go to the website.

edit:
had another look at your tasks:

the number of completed tasks (95) shows your´re running on more than one core.
So your golden in that.
Sorry al that is in german: here´s the translation for you:
alle= all
in bearbeitung= in progress
überprüfung ausstehend = pending validation (means the result has to be verified by a second person)
gültig= valid ( result has successfully been verified)

I eventually found the advanced view. but as it says it's disconnected boinc manager isn't showing anything.

Yeah, System Monitor shows everything is chugging away at 100%. shame i can't update the boinc manager but atleast i'm contributing.
we can sort out the Berkeley access issue at leisure. would it have anything to do with change of mirror server? any issues with non US servers? i haven't tried a re-start or checked firewall  (as i had access fine yesterday) but re-started the network box and everything else running [link=mailto:f@h]f@h[/link] is fine.

any thoughts?

welcome to the dark side

Even though berkeley is down, you shouldn´t see the disconnected message.
Once you have the boinc manager installed berkely doesn´t have anything to do with it anymore.
pogs is hosted in australia.
Maybe just a reboot of that puter is in order to get rid of that message and have your tasks show up

Oops, it looks like fitsedwrapper goes away; "ps -ef | grep fit_sed | wc -l" should give you the correct number (+1).
