A better cpu? Whats wrong with that one?
It's not the greatest OCer ever. I haven't had it under water yet so I don't have a full picture yet, but I have to pump a lot of voltage into it just to get it stable at 4.2\4.3.
1.285 Vcore on Air at 4.2\4.3 Looks better than Mine originally did. Now I need to use anywhere between 1.4 to 1.5 Vcore to get mine stable at 4.6\4.7 with Chilled Cooling Water.

Ah. Not sure what mine did. Always had it under water since day one, but i know i need to get back to being under that 1.4V range though.

From what I've been reading 1.5v is the voltage people are throwing around as the upper limit on these chips without getting them cold. I don't think you could do a 24/7 OC with that kind of voltage due to temps, but you may be able to bench on it. I personally wouldn't want to do anything more 1.35V on a daily basis though, but I always try and keep my 24/7 OC's on the lower end. I only abuse my chips when they're under the clock

At this time, the voltage is set to Auto, so I need to go in and edit the settings to get the voltage lowered, as I am sure that the auto voltage is going above and beyond what is necessary.

That was 720P with 3 cards, but it would seem that one of my cards was in the wrong mode and it was degrading everything else. I just got 52k no gpu over clock and 53K with a light over clock.

Sorted out?, Well I guess you could say I have been trying to learn more about the Card's Limits. Today I've been generally just looking at the scoreboards and taking it easy and watching everyone on the Forums upping their Stress Levels while waiting for the Classified to be released. Noticed over on Overclock.net there were a few modded Bios's out that may/may not help overclocking the reference cards and talk of the Classified Bios and whether or not the EVBot will have any updated firmware for it. I have noticed that, at least on My cards, that anything past 1.250 volts/1600MHz causes Blank and/or Vertical light blue screens when pushing hard with the 980's. Possibly may be reaching the Limit on these Reference Cards? Edit: Just saw the Classifieds released and SOLD OUT in Less than 5 Minutes! Evidently, Jacob was Correct (again) when he stated they will be release in a "Very Limited Supply". You just HAVE to get a laugh out of their tactics they use....

Cards limits are about 1587/2028 or so. On air with absolutely no artifacting.

That is actually a wasted effort for some since they will not be buying. Only engaging in conversation.

I had a look at some of them. It's best you mod your own and flash. The nvflasher is good and the kepler tool will work for change clocks and things. As to it actually working...Remains to be seen. For instance. The voltage. It might look like it's changing but in reality it is not. At least on my cards, but then at this point. No one seems to really be above 1.6ghz core.
I have noticed that, at least on My cards, that anything past 1.250 volts/1600MHz causes Blank and/or Vertical light blue screens when pushing hard with the 980's.
Possibly may be reaching the Limit on these Reference Cards?
As to the whole voltage thing...none of my voltages show correctly or exactly the same. Maybe you should look into that part and see if yours is the same way.

No problem Craig. I don't really use voltage. They adjust on their own. i just set clocks for the most part. Ill snap a shot of what they look like while running a bench. Doing a single card run so it will be like 15 minutes.

I did not change anything. just set some clocks and ran with it. that translates in to Overclocked 1350/2003 Those are boost clocks in pictures.

I see what I may have been doing wrong now, I have been using Precision X 4.2.1 so I could engage the K-Boost to get the Cards to around 1.250 volts! And Yes, My Voltages fluctuate between the separate Cards as your test run shows. Guess I should do like you say and just use Precision X 15 5.2.3 and let it control the Voltage.

I don't use kboost. It doesn't work for me. It's greyed out.
that run right there netted at 41722 and 69416 gpu score.

I know it's Greyed out in Precision X 15 5.2.3, But it works in Precision X 15 4.2.1 for me, Although I see I need to go to the newer Precision X and try Benching with it.

I can bench with any of them. None made a difference in scoring.

Have you considered precision 5.2.4, the newest version? It still doesn't enable KBoost with SLI setups, but it seems to be more stable overall. It is the first revision (for x15/16) I haven't deleted yet.
