First off, HEY to everyone....this being my first post here! Hope to learn a thing or two, maybe enough so I don't have to toss this card out.

Problem: My machine is an eMachine/Vista 32 Ultimate SP2/Core 2 Duo/4 gigs ram. Been using the onboard graphics but wanted to use the HDMI on my 22" monitor and add the 1 gig memory for the video chores. Installation went well and everything works perfectly...YouTube, DVDs, a few games I play (not heavy graphic games, though), general surf and so on. No problems. Until I get on Netflix. I might can watch a few minutes or so and then, suddenly, the screen goes completely black, the audio plays for a few more seconds and then starts stuttering and then quits. Since the screen is black the only thing I can do is push the on/off button until the computer goes off, then restart. When Windows comes up I get an error message (Windows has recovered from an unexpected CRASH) that lists a BCCode 116. I have been researching that code but not much on it.

Treatment So Far: I have uninstalled/reinstalled the latest drivers (340.52), reset card settings to default, uninstalled/reinstalled Silverlight, cleared the Netflix cookies, no antivirus running, no viruses/malware problems, no firewall issues and conversed with a Netflix support guy (Netflix cookies suggestion).

As I said, the video is perfect for every task I do otherwise. When this problem occurs the machine does not make any additional sounds (HD spinning, fans revving up, etc.). If anyone has any thought on this I would like to hear it. Otherwise, I will have to resort back to the onboard graphics (Netflix works fine with it) or maybe try an ATI card.

Does this only happen with HDMI output from the card? Can you try the other connections on a different monitor and see if the black screen happens there, too?

Hmmm, good idea. I will check this out after work tonight. I have another monitor but it doesn't have HDMI.

No good on the VGA change over. Blacked out 3 times tonight in a 90 minute span. As for the Chrome idea, that is the browser I have been using. Maybe if I tried IE or maybe FF? I'll try those and get back.

No good there either. Same problem. I've pretty much decided to use my laptop for Netflix and keep the 210 in my main machine. Thanks for the suggestions...if any other ones come to mind I will try them out!

It's odd that it would behave that way, I was leaning towards it being an HDCP issue. With it happening on VGA, that's out.

Vista SP2 Ultimate should have Windows Media Center included, I know Win7 Ultimate has it, since I use it daily. You can try loading that and see if loading Netflix there has the same issue.

    FIXED!!  So far, so good....

Did a fresh install of Vista, only updated the C++, .Net framework and Silverlight.  Watched 3 continuous hours of Netflix (sheesh!) and not one little hiccup!  The card software says that there is an update for it but I am holding off a while.  Besides there was nothing in the update notes that applies to this card specifically.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I know that a complete OS reinstall is a bit drastic, but, like the cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn used to say...."I always keep my feathers numbered for such an emergency"!

It May have been a corrupt driver, registry, or DRM issue. I just ran into a strange DRM problem with Silverlight and Netflix a couple weeks ago. No black screen, but a cryptic Netflix error. Ended up re-installing Silverlight, and running a MS FixIt tool to clear the registry and Silverlight storage folders. Everything was fine after that.
